I am in envy of all you runners but I am just walking. Back out on my longer walks for weekend 10.44 km or 6.45 miles in 1 hour35 mins. Was out at 6.20 am , at least it light in mornings but got wet. Not a very attractive route I went but probably safest with plenty of lights and traffic. Hopefully shortly will go for a more scenic way. Trying to get my challenges for month on Strava and Garmin, at least it’s an incentive to get out especially when I dont have a dog to drag me for a walk . Did my usual 4 km walks weekdays.
Hope u have a good weekend 😊

You are a very fast walker, I think it is practically running! So don't be jealous, you are doing the same distances as us or more (definately a lot more than me at the moment!)! And you don't get the shocks on your joints of running! So you are doing a very healthy thing.
Thanks Evy just sometimes a bit boring walking all the time but better on my joints. I had a wee try the other day slow jogging and my hip started to hurt again so walking for me. MrD won’t go out early with me and I’m a morning person , but he’s still on IC yet, , if only he would do some exercises for it.
Congratulations, that's power walking Doris8, almost running, well done, my normal time for walking a 10K is around 1 hour 50 minutes although I have walked it in 1 hour 38 minutes which I consider as fast, so your time is excellent, my Sunday morning walk this morning was only 7K after my 5K parkrun yesterday.
Thanks AlMorr yes like to get a brisk walk and better for your joints. Did u go to Dunfermline for your parkrun. ? Good walk a 7km. You’re very active. 😊
Yesterday I ran at Drumpellier Parkrun, the weather was showery, for the first time I was wearing my waterproof jacket which I got as a Christmas present last year, I intend to run 8K this Wednesday morning as a buildup to running 10K by the end of the month in preparation for the London Vitality Virtual 10,000 in early May.
Well done Doris, really good time for a walk. It's best to build up safely as you are until you know your body will allow you to run. If you decided not to, you would still be very fit and probably more likely to be free of injury, so it's not a second best.I'm only managing one 5k a week, with other fitness classes in the week including a walking group and it feels just right for me.
