Three years since c25k, I've continued running. Joined in with others, who have formed informal running groups. That encouragement has been vital from my perspective, to keep me going. Running with somebody, is ten times easier that running on your own. I slowly increased distance on one of my three weekly runs, until we were hitting 10k. With the support of those more experienced than me, I have allowed distance training to increase to 12 miles duration, in preparation for my first half marathon next weekend. That endurance training must have gained dividends, as yesterday, in my mid sixties, I ran a personal best 10k time. There is hope for we, of the older generation.

Woohooo!!!! HM next weekend! How exciting!!!!
Best of all, there are eight of us from our little running group, running the Wilmslow half marathon next Sunday. A bit of support and encouragement for each other.
Oh wow!!! I’ll be cheering from the virtual sidelines! 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
Hi Tom-cat , if you'd like to pop over to the Marathon and Events forum and reply to this post from Irishprincess , healthunlocked.com/marathon..., you'll find extra support and virtual pompoms! 👍🥳
I know Wilmslow, my childhood home was near there.
Even better than that CBDB, my first grandchild, born just three months ago will be there to raise my spirits. My eldest son and family live in Wilmslow where the run starts and finishes.
Excellent progress !I know Wilmslow (used to live in Poynton) 😁
Good luck with your HM 👍
