Well I just had to didn’t I?

New shoes arrived on Friday just before I went to work, had a quick try on and had to leave…. I stayed overnight and thought about a run when I got home yesterday but was not feeling it so put my feet up instead.

I’m going to be back at work at 2 today and not home til 2.30 tomorrow! 😔

“Do you fancy a quick run before I go to work?” I asked Willow

“I really don’t “ was his reply.

So I read a bit more, drank my tea, and started to think 🤔

Where was the excitement of running in new shoes? I better get going or it will be time for bath, pack, toast and off to work!

I pulled on some leggings and a top, does it matter if i don’t wash first? nah!

shoes on earbuds in and out the door. My favourite run. Bit of Elton singing in my ears and brisk walk to the end of the close. It’s a bit blustery, turn right, Power off shout the earbuds but i can still hear faint music, i think the phone is playing away in my pocket.

On I run, not a bad pace, pass another runner going in the opposite direction, we grin and raise a hand as we pass.

I haven’t got long so I up the pace a little, up and over the railway bridge, 1k done, feet nice and springy

Time to head for home, I’m gliding along, this feels good and now the wind is behind me 😀

Another kilometre done and nearly home, yup those shoes were worth the money that was short but a lovely run

It was a battle getting them, the first pair they sent the wrong ones and it was a bit of a rigmarole sending them back and i’m still waiting for the refund but….. I so wanted a pair and all my running shoes are now quite smooth on the sole so i didn’t want to skid over….. that’s my excuse and i’m sticking to it 😂

Good for u getting out before work, love the colour of your brooks trainers. I’ve got. Brooks as well but not many colours in extra wide just black, but they’re comfy.I know how u feel about sending back and forward but I could t go straight out and run in them have to break in for a week or so in house. Hope you had a good day at work nothing too stressful. 😊

Thanks, they are same shoes as my old ones and it was only a couple of kilometres, if it had been a day off I’d have just carried on because it was an enjoyable run 😀I was cross when the first pair arrived they were blue and mens so wrong all ways, but these were worth the wait

Works just hard at the moment, one senior on holiday one senior in isolation and one senior left so I’m covering a lot of their shifts and not getting my work done

My "new" Brooks road shoes I got in September (when I didn't realise it would take another 3 months to fix my back) are still unworn in their box.

BTW - they're blue and mens!
