So with a free afternoon and having had a good debut run in my new shoes yesterday I thought I would have another trot out with the weather being bright.
A familiar route through Hazelrigg and Dinnington that I have done many times before but on this occasion I set off really quick.
I got to 3k in about 17 minutes and began to have grandiose thoughts of sub 60 for 10k.
I couldn't quite keep it up though and although all the remaining 7 splits were under 6.50 it gradually slipped away and I missed my PB by about 40 seconds finishing in 1.03.52.
Nevertheless I'm really happy with that and definitely crediting the new ASICS with the good weekend runs.
Run happy, run safe.

Well done Chris - 40 seconds down when you’ve been poorly is impressive. I’m sure Lanzarote will kill off any remaining pesky bugs. Running in the warmth again - jealous!
Try going slower in the first half and putting the pressure on in the second half It’s not easy to pitch it just right in training as there’s so many variables, but we have fun trying 💪😃👍🏃♂️
