Been off for a few days not slept much at night and dozed during the day, nearly bought a new laptop nearly bought a new sax, oh the joys of having not much to do!!

today we really needed to run, so out we went, grey sky, a few dogs in the park, we walked to warm up we ran and I walked to cool down, lost Willow but found him back at the car, first k 9.27 second 8.56,

Home again and that’s it!

Have a great day all

'Nearly bought a new sax'....now that's an intriguing sentence 🤔Well done on the run, obviously sitting at home could become very expensive!

It could be very expensive sitting at home, funny thing though, I wanted to make jam tarts, made the pastry, searched the cupboards for a while and it turns out I through the very old scratched jam tart tins away so have to shop. I’ve ordered running shoes today, they sent the wrong ones last time i ordered and i really need new ones

I will buy a new sax but might wait a while, I really need one

Try hiring a sax to see if you get on with it and then buy it, minus the hire fee you’ve paid out.

Whoops! I just read later posts and see you already play. Try the kazoo?

Alto? Tenor? Bari?

Alto

I consider it the hard one. (I know they're all hard). I think it's the one it is easiest to get horrible noises out of.

I just love the sound, have played for a few years I play from music though, can’t play by ear although began to a little so maybe it’s just practice

In the right hands, an Alto is lovely. (Even David Bowie and Rory Gallagher!). I'm A Bass Player. Could you tell? I play by ear although I have Grade 2 Piano in an effort to learn to read. I play with a Jazz band, (still getting the hang of it), where we use Chord Charts. That can be fun.

Bass is good and love to hear, Willow plays by ear, I can a little but my sax is at the end of her playability and had her looked at and told not really worth fixing as it would be too expensive, hence the nearly buying a new one but such a dilemma, but what i can afford or wait a couple of months and buy what i want? probably wait now 😀I can read piano music fine but chord charts are a mystery

If you ever feel like randomly buying a nice Gibson guitar let me know as I will take it off your hands. .... discounted obviously 😁

Ha ha ha got one of those but she’s babe and Willows pride and joy so keeping her

At least it is a run and not a non-run 😉

That’s true I’ve had a few non-runs this week

It was a run, you didn't stay at home on the couch, well done, I hope you enjoy your new computer, the sax, saxophone, I think you used to or do you still play a saxophone 🎷?

SueAppleRun profile image
SueAppleRunGraduate1060minGraduate in reply toAlMorr

Thanks Al, yes we got out, I do still play the sax 🎷 but mine really is at the end of its playability and to progress I need a new one, there are a lot of good second hand ones out there but it might turn up and need a service and some new pads or something so when I replace the old one i’ll buy new, the music shop is great they will set it all up and let me play before I buy so worth getting from there

Wherever you are, if you opened the window you’d probably hear me it can be very loud

I have always lived in a family who play musical instruments. Love it!

SueAppleRun profile image
SueAppleRunGraduate1060minGraduate in reply toRoxdog

I never did so when Willow turned up with his guitar one evening it was like I’d arrived in happiness, we now have a whole area of musical instruments that we play but he’s more serious than me, and records a lot of his music.

You obviously have hidden talents! And there’s nothing as nice as a doze during the day. Well done on your run 😊.

SueAppleRunGraduate1060minGraduate in reply toFrenc

Thank you, a doze during the day is fine unless you then read the night away because you can’t sleep 😀 we had grandson today for lunch and scrabble and barely got a run and a bath in before we picked him up

Frenc profile image
FrencGraduate1060minGraduate in reply toSueAppleRun

I love reading before I switch the light off - but I only ever manage about 3 pages if I’m lucky. Sounds as though you had a full day, hope the scrabble was fun and that you sleep better.

SueAppleRun profile image
SueAppleRunGraduate1060minGraduate in reply toFrenc

Most days i’m the same, about 3 pages and sleep, just lately been a bit odd. It was a lovely day, the scrabble was a lot of fun, but frustrating, too many short word but Willow won….. grandson mostly wins so we get really happy if it’s one of us! 🤣at almost 17 his ability to make awesome words and get them for the highest score is amazing

Any kinda run is exercise. If I have a doze through the day wouldn’t sleep at night. Never knew you played the sax. Very talented both of you. Got quite a few vouchers to spend for birthday today, could have been retiring today but working on for a few months. so I will be joining you on the shopping but don’t really need anything. Just as well vouchers last a while. Enjoy the rest of your days off.

It’s great carrying on working for a while and my best surprise that is known about but forgotten was no NI taken off my wages. I ordered new running shoes but think of them as a necessity 😂

Just to say thanks! I always enjoy reading your posts. I’m in a consolidation phrase of running for around 30-32 minutes two or three times a week, having graduated from C25K. My goal is to run an entire park run of 5K, so I need yo build up to a further 5 minutes or so of running. Not easy but gradually getting there!
