Had the most amazing month walked / ran at least 5 km every day. As a result I have experienced a major reduction in heart rate for the same speed and distance. I would encourage everyone who finds being constant difficult to consider walking / running every day. If you are recovering, then walking 5 km at 11 minutes per km is not too tough. It's a lot better than skipping a few days. I find if it's not daily it's twice or once a week which is probably not healthy. It's so satisfying to see major improvements as the result of being consistent. I have been running for years but it was a half hearted attempt. This last month was a major discipline to run most runs at a very easy pace. Only the weekly parkrun was at full pace with a two day walk thereafter. Walking at say 9 minutes per kilometer is a great way to exercise, I found walking 10 km a wonderful way of building stamina and endurance to start running part of the way. Listening to the body is key.

Well done. I’m thinking of giving it a go for February. I’ve done it in the past during January. Great way to kick off a New Year.

Sounds amazing, well done. Did you do all the 5k+ walks as single walks or did you split them up?
