Having not run since last Monday, and in-laws arriving after lunch for a couple of days, something had to be done this morning and Dexy5 won't let me run with her while she's rehabbing (my presence inspires her to run faster than she wants to, or something). But it's still darned hot, so I thought a JRS session would be over and done with reasonably quickly. And the closed-to-traffic section of the prom is pretty much ideal for the job.
After a 5 minute warm-up jog, the first set of 5 was sort of OK, but I had to come down to a walk for the 2 minutes between sets. Second set again OK, and Mr Garmin recorded a max pace of 20 kph (3'00"/k) during one of the sprints - somewhat unlikely I feel! Again I had to walk between sets, and I needed another 2 minute walk between the third and fourth reps of the third set. But as I've only usually done 2 sets in the past, I think that gets a "not bad" rating overall.
Shame I didn't include JRS in this month's Quest, though .
Onwards and upwards ....

'I am a Stanley fan, travelling across the land' always loved your fans singing that that and loved your ground too. Been there a few times, anyway...sounds good to me and a little walk in between meant you could do more reps which is ace.
Thanks, I've never been able to work out what they were singing in the second line - and I should be able to cope with the accent!! Glad the Mariners made it back to the league after a brief intermission - ours was 44 years
We sing, 'I am a Grimsby fan, travelling across the land, I know what I want and I know what I'm getting I want to destroy Lincoln City!' Repeat. Yours will be something similar. Ours was 6 years but it was still fun visiting all the new grounds.
I have no idea how any of that works UTS - but well done anyway! It was lovely out there this morning wasn’t it? But in this heat I reckon any run deserves more than a ‘not bad’ - so well done you !
I take it coming down to the walk between the sets breaks your stride? As someone who likes walking breaks, those 2 minute periods of respite are my favourite part of 30/20/10 (as I know it). I am not sure what I hate most. Block 3, if I get that far, or the last couple of 10 seconds ‘sprinting’ in block 2. I have never got to a 4th block.
First time I've had to walk more than a few steps at the end of a set, though looking back I've previously taken 5 minutes between sets at a slow jog, instead of 2 at a walk as yesterday. Though as I've said before, every sprint is followed by 5 secs staggering ... unless I'm not trying hard enough!
