I was out at 6.30 this morning very windy and cold. Never slept much last night after my hands fingers and feet burn, neuropathy in middle of investigation, read book iPad at 1.30 to try and take mind of it , Anne Frank diaries. Had booster vaccine and flu jags as well yesterday but no side effects as yet, I have had neuropathy for 3 years. So went out for a run didn’t think I would do it but ran my fastest 5 km 38.03 and felt good. My time for 8km was 1 :03:53 pace 7.54 /km. Strava says broke records so feel pretty chuffed after lack of sleep,
Have a good Sunday.

That was a good run for you today Doris8, well done, good time for both 5K and 8K, nice to get a sub 40 minute 5K, I don't think that it will be long before you get a sub 60 minutes 8K, no hurry for that, now you can relax for the rest of the day.
After my 5K parkrun yesterday, this morning I went a 12K walk, part of that walk was on a Half marathon trail route, mostly off road.
Thanks Al Morr was out for lunch but had intended watching rugby Scotland Australia but on prime tv. Another 5 km under your belt. A good walk 12 km . I stick mostly to roads. Will have to think about shoes that I can wear wide in winter and frost on roads that have a good grip. Was looking at the Altra. Tried hoka but not good on the arch for me. I thought you were getting the bad weather near your way. Still very windy and cold here yet.
It's annoying that alot of sport is now on the likes of Prime TV, a channel that hardly anyone watches, the weather where I am in Central Scotland is very pleasant, most of the gales are in the North of Scotland.
Well done with your 8k especially after not much sleep, flu jab and your booster !My 2nd covid jab (almost 6 months ago) knocked me up for 5 or 6 days , I was totally exhausted ! 😐
I was OK after my booster but rotten ofter my flu jab although it took a few days to kick in. Great times today mind. If I am tired I often don't run. But I'm at the recovery running stage so I don't want to do anything to jeapordise my recovery either.
Sometimes you just don't feel it but if you know it us all in the mind and a few hours missing sleep then once in a while a run can do you good. Still impressed with those times!
I heard that they have added in extra bits to counter 4 variants rather than the usual 2. So it may cause more of a reaction. Of course that may be all nonsense. Plus I could have had another bug in my system that got me and Mrs R (and Mr R Junior too who got jabbed and is away at Uni, but he might have had food poisoning- he can only cook one thing!)
As long as it does the job intended for. If you refuse booster vaccine if offered think there’s throwing to bring in you won’t get abroad. Fingers crossed 🤞
The doctor said I had a bit of pneumonia on my lungs but signed me off for some six weeks with asthma (because I take inhalers). That was 6 years ago and ironically one year after giving up smoking. SO I always get a jab ( and don't smoke!)
Yes me too after cancer. But I would take it anyway as working in shop near customers all the time. That’s good you’ve given up smoking, and hope you’re asthmain control. Take care
Hopefully too. Neurologist investigating so hope they can come up with something. Yes I felt good on run , think it’s helped doing walks through the week and when I see a hill I try and run up it so maybe getting stronger. Mind my hills are not hilly 🤣
Oh well done! Funny how some of our best runs come out of nowhere on top of not feeling great and sleep deprived 😊. Breaking a PB is always fantastic 😁⭐️👍.
That's admirable Doris, going out to run after hardly any sleep and health issues troubling you. I hope the after run 'high' made you feel a lot better and also helped you sleep.Your speed was very tidy too, all- in - all a run to be proud of. Best wishes ☺️
