I am so pleased and happy that i decided to join you all in doing the C25K and then onto bridge to 10k albeit only completed it once.

I never thought I would be able to run couldn't when I was younger so what made me think I could do it at the age of 70?

Well I saw a man of 90 jogging round the streets then saw a lady doing a very slow shuffle round the park. I saw these people every day on my way to the gym.

I was feeling quite low one day and someone in the gym said go for a run it will lift you.

Ha I walked out of the gym and attempted to run , I thought I was fit, after 2 mins fit to drop.

Next day I downloaded C25K (that took some doing not tech savvy) and listened to Laura.

Husband says what are you doing that for dont you think the gym is enough no says I and off I go.

Wk 1 completed and I am elated the shuffling lady gives me a thumbs up sign.

Completed after 9 weeks and I run on for bridge to 10k with encouragement from here.

See the 90 year old man and he shouts welcome to our world so

li would like to th.ank each and everyone of you and wish you all a healthy and prosperous new year., without you all on this forum I dont know how I would have coped.

Happy new year 🏃‍♀️🏋️‍♂️💕

I think your post will resonate with so many of us of the older persuasion, it certainly did with me. I'm still amazed, over a year later, that, like you,at 70 I'm getting out there 3x a week to do a run. I'm actually a runner. ( that might be a euphemism, perhaps a jogger, I'm slow but steady). Happy New year with lots of running experiences to you too.

Thanks for the story. I'm sure there are a lot of younger people who feel that they are too old to start running and feel embarrassed about trying it. Only after start running I too noticed some old gentleman probably in his 90's and another lady shuffling(still quite fast) early in the morning. Running is for everyone and in every age group, how good is that?

Thank you doggytail. It was lovely to read about your journey into running. As an older woman I really appreciate that there are others like me on this forum. My son says there is a 95 year old man who does a certain park run every week. Others lap the old guy but he plods on to the end. Inspirational 👏👏👏Keep on keeping on😎
