So I’ve graduated from the c25k programme and am so happy that I’ve been able to do four 5k runs (as well as some shorter runs). I really want to keep pushing myself to go further and maybe improve my pace. I can’t exactly say I’m enjoying running but definitely feel the need to head out 3 times a week so think I’ve got the bug 😊
Onwards and upwards: So I’ve graduated from... - Bridge to 10K

Getting the enjoyment can take time. It does certainly get easier in a way, well lets say it gets more controlled. You get better equipped for dealing with the toxic ten and your stamina improves so you can cope with more. I'm 6 months in and now working towards 20k but I wouldn't necessarily say I enjoy it, I do get a big high from a good run though
Keep building on those 3 runs, you'll be at 10k in no time at all

Congratulations on your graduation and running the 5ks. Really great achievement.
If you want to increase your distance have a look at the pinned posts called 10 is the Magic Number. ju-ju- has devised a plan that takes you from 5k to 10k. This runs as a rolling programme you can join at any time and repeat weeks if you need to.
Happy running.
I think wanting to get out there is the most important thing to keep hold of ☺

Fantastic... it’s so important to keep at it as a lot of folk drop off after graduation. Well done 😎
Well done, you’re doing great. It’s worth doing a few weeks of consolidation at 5k/30 mins before wanting to push for longer distances. The last thing you want is to risk injuring your newly found running legs.
Try finding new routes to run , or get a new playlist if you run with music, and I’m sure the enjoyment will come.

Its exciting, all this beyond 5k stuff, isn’t it? Am at the same sort of stage and enjoying the feeling of getting stronger. Bug bitten here too!!

Thanks for all the lovely supportive comments. I checked out ju-ju’s plan yesterday and i have to say it has scared me a little! I know so many of you have succeeded with it but I feel like I’m not strong enough to increase my distance a km per week just yet. I have decided to have at least another couple of weeks of consolidating before increasing my distance as I do still struggle to make it to 5k some days (only 4.5k today 😕). Not giving up though, just might take me a little longer than most 😁
