Hi from Xmas and new year in Madeira and different walks to normal

We arrived in Madeira yesterday after an eventful journey as plane tried to land in Madeira Monday but very windy and thunderstorms and circled around for 2 hours and too dangerous so we ended up in Fuerteventura in Canary Islands overnight and landed Madeira Tuesday afternoon. Will get different walks whilst here and up early here too and went downtown for a 4 km walk . Temperature about20 degrees . Keeping covid care face masks tests up to date and get a weekly antigen test here too and my nhs ones as well.

Thanks yes will do , starting to get busy especially with new year happening, no lockdowns here but think some bars in old Funchal were getting warnings about not keeping to regulations and they would be closed if any more problems. Think weather to improve 2 nd week. Merry 🤶

I was there 45 years ago, there was a fantastic fish market in Funchal. I'd never seen whole tuna before.

Think it’s still there yet and those ugly fish black scabbard. They taste good but all.bones and head cut off. It’s a lovely place

We sailed there from Gibraltar, took 8 days of heaving seas and stomachs! Never so glad to reach land as then. Enjoy your stay.

Ooh a tad jealous now! I find it scary though that the plane had to land at Fuerteventura, as the 1 time I was there, there was heavy winds for landing too. Can't imagine what kind of winds it had to be at Madeira then!

My brother and his family are there too, they spent the night in Tenerife! Nephew is a keen runner, maybe you'll meet him if you go running!Have a fantastic holiday 😁
