So I veered off the 10k plan a while back due to a niggly hamstring, but I managed a 7k a couple of weeks ago and today I got to 8k π It was a bit slow at just over 55 minutes, but feeling very pleased! I am hoping to get to 10k by the end of the year and feel confident for the first time I can do it π€
Anyway off to eat a cake as apparently I burned 660 calories!

Thank you! I love to get to a goal and I also love cake (it was good)! Very much hoping to do the 10k...
Don't stress about the time. As it happens I think that is a jolly decent time anyway. I found when I managed 8k I knew that the 10k milestone was going to be achievable.
I just carried on doing my usual 3-7 k's and when the stars aligned and my body felt positive thst was when I decided that the day had arrived.
Take it nice and steady and you will be able to enjoy an even bigger slice of cake when you do your 10. ππ
Thank you for your kind comment about my time, I'm a bit obsessed but trying not to be! Looking forward to the day I feel right to get to the 10k, cake is a very good incentive π°
p.s. just read your profile, looks like we graduated C25k about the same time, so you have done amazingly well to get the 10k under your belt already, especially after your health issues, hope all is good now.
All is fine now thank you apart from just testing positive for you know what. Great.....
Like yourself I became a bit "obsessed" with pace until I realised I was only competing with myself. I then slowed right down and lo and behold so the enjoyment increased dramatically.
Now I just run at whatever pace my body feels able to. Sometimes faster, sometimes slower.
I now have the mantra of "My run, My rules" and then do as I please.
Well done on your first 8k which I think is a great time by the way. It's not slow at all. As others have said don't put pressure on yourself, you will get to 10k when the time is right.
