10k achieved woke this morning determined to do the 10k.

After 4k bum cheeks clenched tight no loos about I doggedly carried on.

Thank goodness the feeling passed when I had got to 6k.

Now that I have achieved this I think I will just play around with the 4 and 5k for a while.

Please can I have my graduation

Thank you to everyone for all their encouragement and happy running x

Ah fantastic doggytail! I bet you feel brill. 10k is such an exciting distance to get to, I’m really pleased for you. A long run via Long Eaton, very apt 😃.

Fabulously proud thank you.I may have a rest now though and just do 5k🤣

Thats sounds like a good plan. I generally look to do 5ks and when I'm in the mood and feeling strong I go further 👍

Congratulations on your first 10k. That’s a great achievement! 🥳🙌🙌👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻My friend gets the notion to ‘go’ at about the 4K mark. We laugh about it but it’s not funny really!

I also thought that once reaching 10k I wouldn’t bother too much with the longer distances, but you soon get comfortable with it. Slow and steady is the key 🐌

Congrats again!

Wow, I'm impressed - I think I'd rather run 10k twice than mop the floor! Now please do take it easy - you're making me feel guilty 🤣

So we'll done doggytail, hope you feel the glow for days to come and that every so often you hear yourself saying time yourself " I did it"! I'm 70 too, started a year earlier than you and did about the same in 6 months, to my very great surprise. Amazing what we young oldies can do when we set our minds to it.

Well done! I bet you're really pleased! It's good to mix up the lengths of your runs after that 10k, although you may become addicted to 10ks!
