Until today, all my runs have been early morning. Originally this was so no one would see my struggles, then it was because it's such a nice peaceful time of day but also... I was doing well following the C25K instructions on the same route at the same time and was a bit reticent to introduce any changes.
Today I was put off an early start by rain, but by lunchtime it was a perfect 7C, the rain had stopped, the wife was at work, the kid at school, and most of my colleagues in the US out for Thanksgiving. All the stars were aligned and off I went. No one would miss me!
I feel like this is a significant start to me moving from my rigid C25K habits to a more flexible approach where running is a regular habit that I can enjoy any time anywhere. Who knows maybe I'll try a different route next time too!

Well done! For me it’s definitely seasonal. But I only discovered that once I started on my 2nd year of running. I usually run mornings, but in winter I switch to midday. In high summer I even run in the evening at times.
Similarly my daily yoga moves around the seasons. I the winter I do it in the evenings anf it feels cozy. Summer it tends to be in the mornings.
Like you I run early because as you say it’s more peaceful, and it fits in with my life. However I did a lunch run this last week because I couldn’t get out of bed! It made a nice change - and it was light 😁. You’re right about being flexible and well done! 😊😊😊
