Abandoned Run 😐

Well it was my intention to run again this morning, I was planning on going at 08:30 as the school started, so as to miss the gangs of zombies lurching along the pavements getting in everyone's way πŸ™„

But, a couple of things changed !

I had a lesson cancellation and also was not feeling too good with a bit of stomach ache, so the cancellation was actually a blessing in disguise !

So had a leisurely morning and breakfast and was feeling a little better .

Still slight stomach ache but thought I'd be ok so out of the house around 10:15

I had a tech malfunction on the warm up walk where my headphones decided to power off !

Turned them back on again and thought no more of it .

I had decided to do an NRC Headspace run, it's only 32 minutes so I intended to stretch it out another couple of minutes to 5K .

Anyway, started to run and realised my phone was not connected to my headset ! 😠

I carried on running while powering my headset on and off , then the Bluetooth on my phone .

Disconnecting the headset , trying to pair it again all while still running !

Not the best way to start a run !

Anyway, I gave up on that as my phone could no longer see my headset !

And yes, it was all charged up ! 😁

So had no choice but to just have a silent run .

I was also noticing at this point that my stomach was not feeling too good either 😐

But I just kept the pace down and carried on a bit further .

By around 2.5k I wasen't feeling great !

I felt tired , I felt sluggish and had a stomach ache.

Went a little further and the looked at my watch and was almost at 3k so I decided that was enough and stopped the run .

Yes, I had a fair way to walk home but don't feel it would have been sensible to run it .

Back home now , flopped in a chair thinking what just happened 😐

Ahh well, that's the first run ever that I have had to cut short.

Still not feeling great , cancelled my afternoon lessons and will take it easy !

Hope you all have a better day ! 🀞

The gremlins were out in force today!

You're obviously fighting some sort of lurgy, and that will have affected the run. (How it infected the tech too is a mystery.)

Sorry about your run today Instructor57, but you as they say"you listened to your body "and wisely stopped running at around 3K, wise decision, I just hope that you recover quickly.

Thanks Al , Not the best of runs and glad I stopped πŸ‘

Oh dear! Tech issues and under the weather, too. You did well to get 3K done - hope you feel better soon! 🀞

Thanks Jools , I should have stayed in bed 🀣

Tech issue like that are annoying, but honestly? I would have left it at that and not tried to solve it while running. I lose my running-concentration and my cadence and pace go in all directions if I try to do something else while running. Might also be that cause your upset stomach to feel ever worse!

Hope the stomach will recover soon, maybe you ate something bad yesterday?

Yes, very annoying.I soon gave up on the tech and don't think that affected my stomach 😁

Sounds a bit of a nightmarish run .. hope you feel better soon

Oh take it easy! Your body was saying no this morning, as was your tech. It's difficult to get into the right headspace when you're having to fiddle with headphones etc. Have a rest and go out again in a couple of days. Bad tummy -=no energy! Take are of yourself.

You ran just a little further than us today so not bad, call it your short run of the week and get better soon, when you’re not right you have to rest

On the bright side, running 3km whilst under the weather is still impressive as I can imagine that wasn’t easy. Especially as I am guessing you were probably fairly frustrated by all the tech issues at the start of the run. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Sorry to hear about the tum and the tech 😞. There’s nothing worse than having to fiddle with bloomin’ phones etc while running, and on top of not feeling great, I think you did pretty darn good there! And of course your phone worked when you got home. I hope you feel a bit better and that resting up today with Misty will sort you out. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Thanks Kate ! I'm certainly better but not 100 %

I intend to rest this weekend (With Misty) 😁🐱

Here is wishing you a speedy recovery Ian. I certainly wouldn't have attempted to run when under the weather with a tummy bug. All manner of bad things could happen so I'm glad you made it home safely πŸ‘

Rest up, take good care of yourself and get well soon. Hopefully, Misty side-hustles as comforting hot water bottle?
