Just another 10k

Well total for this week is 24k, 2x10k plus a 4k in-between. This 10k was my fastest at 71 mins (pic attached) which was pleasing for my old 74 years old body. Getting home I iced my calfs and spent some time giving them a good rollering, so no adverse effects at the moment from the run except being pumped up and feeling I could go for another run. Used the Nike run club podcast and my garmin watch to audio feed me the pace each minute, incase I get lazy, music by Stevi Ray Vaughan, Texas Blues to keep me going. Interestingly the NRC program gave me a time of 70 minutes, garmin and NRC never seem to agree. So thats the running week over for me, looking forward to Monday. Hope everyone else has had good runs this week.

That’s a great looking run 👍 Good for you. And I love the way you say “Just” another 10K 🙂

Thanks Irishprincess. Well was a bit of an ironic title but really it the opposite as I am really thankful that I can manage to do it.

Well done!

It's strange, isn't it, to say, "Just another 10k" as if it's the most normal thing in the world?

You've done about the same amount of mileage as I've done so far this week, in about the same way.

Where we differ is if plans work out I'll probably add another 21km at the weekend (parkrun + 10 miles).

74 minus 53 is 21, interesting. Enjoy

Well done hamit 😁. That looks as though you have a nice route by the water there. ⭐️

Haha I've got a bit of a creek then three times round an estate and in the dark now still it's on my doorstep

This run is about 20 mins drive for me. Another plus is the car parking is free. Normally run local but this is the run if I get bored.

Just another 10k? Wish I could rack out ‘just’ another 10k! Cracking time as well! Well done - and enjoy the next one!

Really excellent. 👏Spotify assembled a blues playlist for me, and my speed always picks up a bit when an SRV track comes on. 🎸😀On a recent run Texas Flood started playing and it was unfortunately appropriate!🌧

SRV, uploaded to phone for running. That guy could really play, depresses me sometime as my guitar playing will never be a quater as good.

A quarter as good as SRV is still amazing! 😁👏I am the same with playing classical piano. Sometimes I can't bear to touch the instrument for weeks after I've been listening to a master playing.

Should have said .001 as good. These days have been having classical spanish guitar lessions. Still rubbish playing but it sounds good when I mention it. I suppose the playing of an instrument is like running, the jouney never ends.

I agree - the journey never ends. That's the joy of it - it's as rich an experience as I will ever have. Been playing piano since I was 12, and the more I learn, the more I realise how much more there is to learn!
