This is a photo of part of The University of Stirling parkrun course, which I hope to go to next week, despite those conditions, 113 runners ran at Stirling parkrun today, I ran at Dunfermline parkrun, conditions were not nearly as bad as in that photograph, only a few puddles at Dunfermline.

The rain was light this morning at my local parkrun. The forecast for tomorrow's Manchester 10K is "moderate rain".

I don't mind being active in the rain. It's the hour we're going to be hanging around before we start that I'm not looking forward to.

Good luck to you nowster for your Manchester 10K tomorrow, I hope the ☔ rain stays off until the run is over, remember that you do have a extra hour tomorrow with the clocks going back a hour at 2am Sunday.

Wear a bin bag until the start. It does keep you dry’ish.

I have a cunning plan. (No turnips involved.)

I have a very light 25 litre rucksack with a metal frame and mesh back. I'm going to wear a thin waterproof raincoat whilst waiting round, then take it off and shake it out and put it in the very bottom compartment of the rucksack.

Rucksack will also contain gloves and a microfibre towel, and during the race my phone will be in a front pocket of it inside a plastic sandwich bag. Rucksack has a rain cover which I will use. With all that inside it feels like it weighs less than a hydration backpack with 750ml inside it.

No need to carry any water or fluids as there will be water available at 5km and 10km.

That looks very wet Al, we had loads of rain too but then it stopped, the entrance to our park was sodden

A runner would be better running in walking boots or even Wellington Boots in those conditions.

Sounds as though you made the right park run choice this morning. I’m sure the UOS will be much drier next week - I hope so anyway!

I hope to run there next Saturday, the weather forecast for next week is to be less rain than this week, hopefully the water logged course will have much less water than today.

Beautiful tree in the background.. Makes autumn running so joyful.

Beautiful Autumn colour on that tree in the background, I agree, but is running in those conditions "joyful" ☔

Not when it's bucketing down, but it's pretty dry usually here in the east. Not this morning tho.

The photo shows a long part which is flooded, I have only ran there twice when there were no puddles, the first time I ran at Stirling my time was 32.26 which is exactly the same as this morning at Dunfermline.

No faces in this puddle Al!

The only face in any of the puddles at Dunfermline Parkrun was one of me if I had looked down and seen my reflection.

I am not sure how those faces you shared with others on this forum got there, that's is a bit of a scary mystery, afterall, tonight is Halloween 🦇 🦇 🦇 🦇

I think it’s just the way the water was moving plus the light from the sky…. But I still prefer to think they’re really monsters 👻

Yes, I agree with you, keep it a mystery, once Halloween is over, those monsters will have gone.
