Mojo returned

Following my recent disagreement with Mr Garmin I went in search of my mojo at my favourite parkrun location. A single lap 5k around the Reservoir with just one goal - to go and run at my pace with my rules and what a fabulous run it was.

The first km as usual was a battle with the gremlins but at my steady pace I had a great time. I had one stop during the run to pull my phone out of my pouch to capture a photo of the deer grazing but hey! My run and my rules not Mr Garmin's.

Having watched the deer I was uplifted throughout the rest of my run. Also quite pleased with my splits:

6.06; 6.01; 6.13 uphill in the cowfield; 5.55; 5;41.

Happy days. Mojo returned and i have proven to myself I don't need to die at a super fast pace to enjoy a run. Yay.

Well done to Alan99 on running that 5K, I am sure that was just under 30 minutes, you took a lovely photo of the deer.

Excellent stuff. Happy days are here again! 👍 (For me too since I offered Coach Garmin unpaid leave). 😀

Fantastic news Hidden . Envious of the deer pic - the ones I see in the forest scarper before I can get a photo. Though in fairness they probably think I'm a hunter reaching for a gun!

They look so chilled 😍

By the sounds of it, you were too ☺️ Whenever I have to stop for a car, tractor etc, my head screams ‘nooooo!’ So well done for getting over it!

Yes, I know what you mean but, these are now my runs with my rules. Yay. Its so liberating.

Fab sounding run! So nice to see deer and they're not running away either!

in reply to tmbtrain

They have been there for many many years as far back as when I was a youngster. I guess they are just used to us two legged creatures looking at them and pointing oblong shaped things in their direction 😀

Lovely! I saw a heron on my run this morning, was so amazed 🙂

Those times are still superfast (to a snail like me) 😉. Nice to see deer on a run!

Mr Garmin's not quite as clever as he thinks, you show him who's boss! Seizing the moment and taking the photo is the way to go 😁

Oh yes indeedy. It really was liberating to do it, stop my watch take some photos and then carry on. No more pressure, just pure enjoyment.
