10k finally done

I've been regularly running 5ks since graduating Couch to 5k but 3 months ago I started to think about 10k and set about building up training.

And it all came together yesterday. Out for usual weekend run run, at 8k I just knew I could hang in there for 10k. I had thought I would do it in 70+mins but did it in 64mins. Had a feeling of total elation and been buzzing ever since.

I started running over a year ago to help with my mental health and running has been there for me as I have dealt with personal issues and continue to do so. And reading the posts in this community also help me in terms of motivation and that Im not alone in recognising the power of running.

Thanks for everything.

Very well done Andygale, you did it! It’s such an amazing feeling the first time you run that epic distance, and doing it in 64 minutes is phenomenal. 👍👊👏😀🎉

I hope you’ll remain buzzing for the whole weekend. You deserve to! 😀

Well done buddy !! There's a great feel good factor on running your first 10K and you will always remember the exact point your run finished !! A landmark and a pivotal accomplishment !! You must be buzzing and chomping at the bit for your next training session !! Well done . The benefits of running are on going and even when we feel down and lose heart occasionally we are still winners !! We get out of it as much as we are prepared to invest , keep going !!
