First 10K Race!

Hubby and I ran our first ever 10K yesterday. Not only that, it was for an actual race, the Worthing 10K. We got round, we got the bling and we loved it! Think we’ll be buzzing all week! Will definitely be signing up again next year.

For two people that not long ago we couldn’t even run for 1 minute, we followed the C25K plan, we built up to around 9K very slowly after that and kept it steady for yesterday’s race. It can be done!

Well done to both of you and congratulations! The bling is the thing and was the reason I was first tempted to enter a race 🏅🙂

Bask in your achievement and no doubt you’ve already checked out future races!

Thank you! The thought of getting my bling at the end really kept me going! 😂

Just love inspirational posts like this. It proves it can be done and provides motivation. Thank you and well done.

Thank you 😊

Congrats and indeed, it can feel weird, doesn't it? I swear, if anyone would have told me today last year that I would be running 10K and more and actually LIKE it? I'd have booked them a one way ticket to a mental ward, really!

Congratulations and very well done to you both. It’s amazing running in a crowd whilst doing a 10K, the atmosphere pulls you along.

Well done, that’s such a great achievement, was it mostly on the flat? there are some wicked hills in Worthing once you go a distance from the seafront

Thank you! Yes it was all seafront and all flat. Pretty much Lido to Ferring and back.

I’ve run from sompting to goring and back to get to 10k which is great running, I love our seafront

It’s fab isn’t it. We’re so lucky to live between the seafront and the South Downs… we always stick to flat routes though! 😃

I walk over the south downs and sometimes run along the river
