I am trying to do the bridge to 10k but another boring run on the treadmill showed that I am still only completing 3.7 k in 30 minutes funny when I run outside at weekends I manage 3.7 miles. The reason it's the treadmill is that its 5.30am and a bit to dark but weekends I have a lie in so run outside.
My question is am I in the right forum or should I still be posting in the c25k
Thank you to everyone for their support

Hi, you can post on whichever forum you like , but this one my be more helpful if you are working up to 10k .I use them all 😁Are you using the magic plan ?
Well done doggytail on getting this far! Post on either or both forums, you’ll get great support on both! I printed off the plan and stuck it on the fridge - a great incentive!
Hi doggytail. Snap. I'm in exactly the same situation as you. I've managed to run for 60 mins, but it was very slow and only managed about 7km. I think its all about getting used to running for a longer period - I find it more of a mental challenge. Then I guess our bodies (and minds) will get used to the idea of longer runs and the 10km will be a much more manageable task (that's what I'm hoping anyway.).
I am lurking on the Marathon group and I only managed 3x10 - 1x11 and 1x11,5. Nevertheless I lurk there and once in a blue moon reply to someone there. I just find it interesting to read their reports and get inspiration 😉.
You've finished running 30 minutes and are consolidating or trying to go further, not yet read any reason not to be here? I myself need 40 - 45 minutes to do 5K / 60 minutes to do 7K / 90 minutes to do 10K. Does my speed matter? No it doesn't. So just write your reports here, read other's reports and enjoy yourself!
Ditto here. Except my dream is to break 90 minutes for a 10K and indeed 42 minutes for a 5K. The magicbplab is good as it only expects yo to work up to one long run per week. Don't try to make all your runs 10K.! Also be careful on those speed intervals. I tried some on Monday and it was too soon after a moderately long 12.5k on Saturday so I won't be out until Parkrun. But I can do some hateful Strength and Flex instead (or play 🎹 keyboards).
If you do use the magic plan I found motivation in printing it off and using a nice bright marker pen to colour in each run as I completed it. Juvenile I know, but very satisfying .
I am smiling to myself as I read your post because I recognise the pattern. I finished C25k in August 2018 at age 66, and made the mistake of running 5k after 5k hoping to get a bit faster every time. It didn’t work! I eventually got the message and moved over onto the magic plan and ran my first 10k on Boxing Day 2018. The secret of the plan is that it provides a mixed diet of a quicker short run (I think 3k in the first week) a 5k and then a slow longer run building up week on week. Separating out increasing pace and increasing distance in that way is key. The long slow runs build up strength and stamina and all of that feeds back into a bit more pace if that is what you want (I am not to bothered about speed to be honest). In November 2019 my 45 minute 5ks became sub 30 minute ones and my 10ks speeded up, and then I managed a very slow HM through following a different plan. All of that is founded on the three run pattern of the Magic Plan. So it is early days yet. I would get some longer very slow runs into your legs and the magic plan will take you to where you want to be. I wouldn’t worry about pace for now; your body will tell you when it is ready. Take it easy and enjoy being out there.
The magic plan is a great way to progress. I recommend doing the timed version first and moving on to distance afterwards if you're not very speedy. I also recommend progressing at your own pace: repeat weeks if you feel like it and have more recovery days if you need them to minimise injury risk. Good luck!
You're not wrong - you do run for 30 mins for 3 weeks. My understanding is that after the 3 weeks this is an option. It was planned by a fellow runner and recommended by many.
