Morning,

I ran my first ever 10k yesterday evening which I’m very happy with, I ran it in 57m 22s.

I wasn’t bothered with the time just the distance to start with but going forward has anyone got any times to help me run it quicker.

Cheers.

Well done, that’s a decent time first time.

If you consolidate, you will shave off a few minutes over time. Or you could commit to a training plan comprising different types of running in succession, short, long, intervals etc.

This is something I’m considering next via Garmin, its 10k training plan. Basically, you put in the goal time and it tailors a plan of runs for you. I don’t know more than this at the moment, not having started, but it looks fun and interesting.

57 minutes? 😱 I do 85 to 90 minutes over a 10K...

Very impressive that your first 10km is under the hour. 👍

Well run!!!That's a really good time.I think you will find to start with that consolidation run will cause you to speed up naturally. I have a Garmin and have just started one of the training plans on there where you set what time you would like to run in and then follow their plan over a period of weeks. I am sure that there are many similar plans if you have a dig around on line?

Well done you, no matter who runs it, it's quite an achievement over a challenging distance.I would say your time is fast too so embrace your very applaudable first 10k!

Best wishes 👏

Well done! Sorry I've no tips for going faster. I'm at the stage where I can run for over an hour, but haven't done a 10k (yet!).
