First 10k 😊

Today I entered my first 10k race - Two Tunnels in Bath. Loved every second and ran the whole distance. I am so in love with running 🏃‍♀️ 😊..

Hi Lorijay , yes I used to live in Telford, now I live mostly in Switzerland, but we still have a place in Shifnal. Are you local?

Ah thanks! I'll be back in the land of cuckoo clocks by then unfortunately, but the lanes around Shifnal are great for running, so have a good race 😀

Hiya. Yes there is 4 races in the series. This was the final race of 2018! I’ll definitely be doing all 4 next year (the 4 medals slot together to make a pyramid - very cool!). It’s such a great route I’d definitely recommend giving it a go!! 👍

Hmmm yes. After my 8k run the weekend before last my back felt sore. I decided it was best to rest for a week as I knew I had this race coming up. I should’ve done a 9k last weekend! Went out for a 5k and 6k during last week and bit the bullet and went for the 10k today!

Well done! Great time - I’d have only reached 8k by then.

Sounds like we’ve had a similar time of it and found running as a result. My divorce came through 10 days ago! Well done for surviving.

Doing my first 10k next weekend, aiming for around 1 hour 20.

Amazing run - well done you! So pleased for you. You’re way ahead of me now! After my dramatic fall (in fact I had two) just over a week ago I’m on holiday in a very hilly area so the running’s on the back burner until I get home a week today. Hopefully two weeks off won’t be too detrimental to my fitness - although lots of food and drink might be 😆! Anyway good on you - onward and upward. 😘 🏃‍♀️ ❣ xx

Fabulous, well done you! I did the May 6th 10k two tunnels event and wound have loved it except for the fact it was the first really hot weather we had had, and I hadn’t up to that point trained in the heat, so it was a struggle and I only managed to do it in 1hr 16mins so you did flipping brilliantly - I am so in awe!!!!! 🏃‍♀️🎉🏅🙌. Well done you, bask in that wonderful achievement and enjoy flashing your bling, you deserve it! 😎

Thank you Fionn. Sorry to hear your experience of the Two Tunnels wasn’t so great. We had the perfect day yesterday. It was warm but not hot so running in the Tunnels was lovely. Amazed at my time, if I’m honest!! 😊

I really loved the event, just not the heat. I’ll do it again one day and beat my time 😁. Relish do such a great job of organising these events. I’m doing their Killerton trail 10k next month - ulp! 😬😳.
