We were hillwalking in the Lake District the last 2 weeks so I haven’t been running much (but see the pick for one path I took). First couple of days back, and I couldn’t motivate myself. Today is my first day back at work so I set the alarm for 6 and was out by 7 (yes it takes an hour!). A 5k run in the chilly clear light was great and my usual hill was noticeably easier - those hill walks clearly helped! Will see if I can still manage 10k at the weekend…

Lovely photo, good to hear the hill walking has built the hill running muscles. Best of luck for your next 10k. Happy running 🤗

I'm another one who takes ages to get ready for a run. Under an hour would be a very good time for me!

Hill work can work wonders. I actually overtook people on the short climb at the parkrun this last weekend.

Well, it takes 5 mins to get up and get downstairs then I clean up whatever mess has been left in the kitchen the night before. Then sort the cat out, which can take a while if she’s had a bad night! Make the lemon, cinnamon and turmeric drink I have every day, catch up on the news. Drink the drink. Chop veggies for mid morning snack…maybe prep lunch. Put on running shoes, hope it’s not 7am yet. And go. Don’t forget the ear pods! The front door key! God I’m exhausted- now for a nice relaxing run…
