W4R1 - 14 runs to 10km!

Today was the first time in a long time that if it hadn’t been for the programme I definitely wouldn’t have gone for a run. It’s very hot again and we’ve been away for the weekend to celebrate our 22nd anniversary so I was tired after lots of hiking and plenty of nice food and wine!

However, I’m a pretty self-disciplined person and Monday is run day so out I went at 7pm when there was at least a bit of shade. My headphones died a few minutes in so I didn’t have any distractions and I mostly thought about writing this post to get me through! In the end I did 4.01km in 28:16 at a pace of 7:03/km. It’s hard to imagine doubling that distance on Saturday but I felt the same after finishing a hot 3.5km last Monday and my 7km was fine so I’ll just have to trust my legs!

You did well nevertheless. It’s still to hot to run here in Swansea, I did a 3 1/4 mile walk this morning instead, and a 1 1/2 mile walk this afternoon and one mile again just now. I’m just looking for some cooler weather to run in.

Thanks Dave! Yes it really is quite unpleasantly warm still up in Manchester too, I’ll be very glad when the weather breaks! Hope you enjoyed your walks :)

Great splits! It is still humid out there so good for you for getting the run done 👍

But you’re right to trust your legs and the programme, all you have to do is turn up 😂
