W5R2 - 10 runs to 10km!

Today was one of those runs that I can’t really explain and probably couldn’t replicate but everything just worked really well!

I didn’t start with high hopes as it was hot, I was tired and I felt really stiff for the first 0.5km even though I’d done my usual warm up but I noticed my pace was pretty fast without it feeling like an effort. At 2km I realised I was potentially on for a PB if I could maintain the pace but I kept expecting to slow down - somehow, I just didn’t.

I ended up with my third consecutive 5km PB, having knocked 1:43 off my time from Saturday, absolutely over the moon! I also got a PB on every single Strava segment that I run and nabbed the local legend status back from my husband on a stretch we’ve been fighting over for weeks! 5km run in 33:28 at a pace of 6:41/km and home in time for my first of many meetings today!

That’s a great time! I’m aiming to get back to a sub-30 min 5km, hopefully by the end of the year but let’s see :) Glad you had a good run!

Haha, thank you! My husband is training for another marathon so I think he’ll have it back soon but it’s very motivating as a goal 😂
