40 minutes

Hiya,

Went out this morning just before 10 am. It was already a little warm (18 degrees), but as I have to get up on weekdays at 6 for work, I really can't force myself to get up at 6 in the weekends too. Had breakfast just before 8 and waited 2 hours to avoid spasms.

Put coach Bennett in my ears for 40 minutes and set off. Loads of sour people out and about who did not say g'morning back, even a couple of other runners who ignored me. Luckily a few people did say hello back, including 1 very enthousiastic runner near the end of my run, which made up for all the walking lemons.

I had planned for 40 minutes, thinking to build up my long runs back from 30 minutes to 90 minutes with an increase of 10 minutes each weekend. I am starting to think that this might be too much though. My fitness has really suffered hard when I took an involuntary break of 3 weeks.

At 30 minutes I wanted to stop. But I pushed on, thinking I could stop at 35 minutes. At 35 minutes I thought to push to 40 minutes to reach my goal. But I was breathing hard and felt like I had run a marathon. But I succeeded in getting to 40 minutes, finishing with 4,52 km.

Coming home I admired the tomato color of my face in the mirror, thinking that people who saw me running must have thought I had run much much longer to look this red and tired 😹.

But hey, I did my 40 minutes! Can't run Tuesday (got my 4 weekly IV againgst reumatic artritis and I prefer not running after it), so it will be Wednesday (hopefully).

Cheers, Evy

If I run past someone who doesn’t return a greeting I stick out my tongue at them. They don’t see this but it makes me feel better. Childish I know 🀣

Sounds a great run, good for you! I turn very red too but we should be proud - it’s a sign of a body hard worked πŸ₯΅

Haha I should remember that!

Well done Evy and for completing your goal of 40 minutes !And yes, some people just don't seem to want to respond to a good morning ! As you say , even other runners sometimes !

Ah well 🀷

Just went for a walk and now more people did say somethink back or a nod. I guess at 10 am people still have a morningmood? 😹

Good run for you Evy . It doesn’t take much just to say hello or good morning. Lemons as you say. Only one person I saw this morning on my long walk as out early but she never spoke as well. Most folk do but must be too early on a Sunday morning to see anyone. Good luck Wednesday πŸ€—πŸ‘

in reply to Doris8

Yeah, maybe 10 am was too early still, morningmood or such. On my walk just now more people said something back or gave a nod.

Well done Evy! It's fantastic that you managed your 40 minutes this morning, not easy after that break. And well, tomatoes are great and they beat lemons every time! πŸ…πŸ’ͺπŸ‹πŸ‘ŠπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Well done Evy. Sounds like a good run even though you had to push yourself. I too turn into a tomato at the end of a run, even a short one but, hey, it shows we're doing something!

in reply to Lifluf

True, I do always think that people must think I ran a marathon or so, haha!

Great run there Evy. 40 minutes is a nice time to run I’m trying to get back there slowly so I don’t set my hip off again did 27 minutes this morning and felt good could have made it to 30 really but I had arrived back home so came in and did some stretches. Well done. πŸ₯΅I recognise that face too 🀣🀣🀣
