Since graduating from C25K two months ago I have ran regularly 3 times each week. I had no thoughts of aiming for 10k as I felt it wasn’t possible for me to achieve.
Each week I have aimed to increase time I’m running in small increments. I found that I was running further each time. Today I ran 8.4K in 45 minutes. It suddenly dawned on me that I’m not that far off 10k so now have a new belief that in time I will be able to be a 10k graduate too.
It just amazes me how vital self belief and the support from this community is so encouraging so thank you all for your posts.

That's pretty much how I got to 10km, except I did it by distance, adding little bits on each week. I forecast you could do it before the end of this month.
Well done your doing fantastically, just keep doing what your doing you'll be running 10k as soon as you no it, its all about distance not speed as I hav learnt 😀
Wow that's fantastic 👏👏👏Keep at it.. you'll be there before you know it.. just maybe slow down a little on your longer runs, till you've reached your 10K..
Fantastic! I probably graduated same time as you and done the same 3 runs per week but, have stayed the same in time and distance. I need a goal and think, after reading your post, I am going to try and increase time each week too and see what happens! I’m still around 4K in 30 mins but, will just add a little time each week and see how I go. Thanks for sharing 😊
It’s great that you are still keeping up the running. I really look forward to it now but I do need my rest days in between. I wasn’t sure what to do after graduation but knew that I wanted to keep it up. I just drifted into the increased duration really. On the first run of the week I increase the time of my run slightly then repeat on the next two runs…worked for me so go for it!
Started this week by increasing to 34 mins - was slower, so didn’t increase distance but wasn’t worried by that. Had rest day and ran again Tuesday and intended to do the same - CR21 but for the first time, I didn’t make the intended minimum 30 min, let alone the 34 min I was hoping for ☹️ I can’t explain why, but my head kept telling me I could do a jog/walk and soon as I started thinking about it I stopped running. Tried to re-start a few times and failed - ended up walking again. So disappointed in myself ☹️ I know I’ve read about ‘bad runs’, but am now worried I’ll never be able to do 30 mins again. Sounds ridiculous and dramatic, as I know I’ve done it so many times before. I should’ve gone out again today, but haven’t, ….. keep finding reasons not to. Hoping to get my head sorted and try again 🤞🤞🤞Anyone else experienced this and how long did you wait before going out again??
