I don’t know if I’m supposed to stIll post on here as I will be doing walking only as hip too sore and scared to run in case damage it more with osteoporosis being bad in hip. I like to read the posts that are written by the community and to follow them but since mine is only walking don’t know if it would be appropriate. I have been doing 5 km most days and Sunday 11km in 1 hour 44 walking but Mr D does his challenges 5 km 29mins and 10km 1hour 2mins.

Happy running everyone😀

Sorry to hear you are unable to run now due to hip problems. There is a walking forum on health unlocked. If you are interested in finding out whether that would be a forum to join search for Health Walks. I’ve lost the way to get there but I’ll tag roseabi in and she’ll sort you out. 🤗

There are two walk forums.

The first one is associated to our runners and S&F forum, so you’ll find some overlap between runners walking on there and our admins overlap as well : healthunlocked.com/active10

The second one is independent from our running forum: healthunlocked.com/health-walk

Both of them are not quite as active as our running forum, but they do have a community of walkers and walking runners.

Hope your hip improves. These things seem to be sent to us to test us. So wishing you a lot of patience and a speedy recovery!

Oh gosh, of course. Don’t leave us! 😃 And let us know how you’re doing. It’s all in a life of a runner!

I myself have subscribed to all of our forums:

1) Strength and Flexibility

2) Couch to 5k

3) Bridge to 10k

4) Marathon and Race Support

5) Active 10

So you do not have to chose, you can have it all!! 😁😆😁

(Tip: I have switched off any email notifications)

Hi CBDB, I have just had a look at that walking forum on HealthUnlocked, it's 'Paths for All, Health Walks', I am a member of our local Heath Walking Group, we walk a 4K every Thursday morning at 10.30, if everyone is attending which they have not over the past year, there are about 20 of us, the group is divided into three, 1, for the quicker walkers, a 4K walk, 2, a middle group who walk about 2 kilometres at a slightly slower pace than group 1 and finally a third group who walk 1K quite slowly around a football stadium.

Hi AlMorr I walk on my own early before work and when off weekend long Sunday walk. Mr D does running. There’s quite a lot of walks round our area and when retire next year with MR D hopefully we will get out more together, shop quite time consuming and that is why my early walks and prefer early morning. 😊

So sorry to hear about your hip !Hope it will improve for you 🤞

Can you still post here ?

ABSOLUTELY 👍

And take care

Too bad about the hip, but of course you can still lurk and post here, why not? As long as you don't get a sour mood from reading our stories and not being able to join us in running? But you can tell us all about what you saw, how the walk felt, etc 😀

It’s like parkrun - you can walk , jog or sprint Doris8. I hope your hip sorts itself out soon.

I think the pace that you and Mr D are walking sounds like running to some of us slower runners 😲 🐢. In my book that definitely qualifies you for sticking around here 😅

Sorry you picked up my report wrong. My D is running not walking. My time is walking., even I think Mr D is quick for a nearly 61 years young tomorrow 😊

You graduated so you’ll always be a runner and therefore always a member here!

Walking is brilliant exercise and you’re clearly getting great miles in there. Good for you 🙂
