Have done 3 early morning walks this week only 4km before work, so this morning did a 5km walk at 46 min.48 Cold and lovely and sunny.
Doing walking as hip and groin problems yet and sacroiliac joints hurt so laying of the running Doing stretching. Quite enjoying the walking. Thought this would be gentler.
Enjoy the rest of your bank holiday 🙂

That sounds a great alternative with your current painful grizzlies. Good for you finding a satisfying running replacement- a good skill for us all. I am doing rebounder (mini trampoline) work outs & extra cycling because my sore foot means very limited running/ walking. 😄
Thanks hope your foot gets better as well. Have an exercise bike but not the same as outside. I need impact with the osteoporosis, probably that’s a lot to do with it as well but enjoying it. 🤗
Sorry to hear the running is having to take a back seat at the moment Doris8, hope you’re back to it soon! In the meantime enjoy those walks - I’m doing the same at the moment !
Yes I’ve had the hip gremlins since January which is really beginning to annoy and yesterday I managed to put my back out. Again. Picture me pretty 🤬 off!!
Walking 5K in a time of 46.48 is almost power walking, I once walked around my home parkrun in about the same time,(not at a parkrun) walking at that pace is quite tiring, well done 😀
Thanks AlMorr started to feel it a wee bit on back. Probably slow the pace down a wee bit. Couldn’t walk 10 km at that pace think about 15min a mile. Ok at 5km . Does many people walk parkruns. ?
That walk I did was around my home parkrun on a Friday morning, not at a parkrun, yes there are some people who do walk on a Saturday morning at a parkrun.
I was aiming for a JuJu 10k run but have stuck at about 8 or 9. I have therefore started to mix my runs up into walking and running to hopefully improve my endurance - Fartlek or Jeffing lol. It is proving to help me and all the books say it is just as beneficial as constant running so here's to it. I hope you're injury clears up soon and you get back on track.
Thanks . Can’t do fartlek or hills they hurt sacroiliac joints at any time . Trying to do flat . I have doing Jeffing or just slow running and find that’s ok but giving running a break just now . Hopefully back shortly. Good luck on your running😊
