Up early this morning and headed straight out for my final Magic Plan run, which was a 10K run. I've already managed to run a couple of 10K's before, so was feeling reasonably confident this morning. I seemed to set off far too quickly, but actually I settled into the quick pace and felt good, I put that down to the excitement of running in new shoes (ASICS Gel Cumulus 22 AWL - love these !). In fact I managed to keep the pace up for the whole 10k and finished in just a few seconds over 62 minutes, so very pleased with that as it was 4mins quicker than my previous 10K.
I've really enjoyed the plan and I can feel that it has improved my stamina, I've gone from feeling like 'maybe I could do 10K on a good day with the wind behind me' to 'I can run 10k now if I want to'. Don't get me wrong I still have some killer runs, these tend to be 4/5k's after I have sat at my desk all day. However, the plan has certainly given me a lot more confidence to try running 10k's regularly and who knows, to maybe push on to the HM.....but let's not get too carried away just yet.
