Runversary, Vitality 10k and final COGH run !!

Well - I’ve missed quite a bit on here ! Haven’t run for over a week and didn’t log my previous 2 runs and in general a bit busy and not even checking all your lovely posts ! So got a bit of a shock when I tuned in earlier to see all the posts about various ‘events’ ! Since I signed up to vitality (the real thing) but didn’t bother to reregister for the virtual run, nevertheless decided I’d give it a go. I’ve still got last year’s medal and I don’t need another !! (I grew up in a family that recycled advent calendars year after year !! Before chocolate ones became the norm !). So I did it, though I’ve been a bit lax lately and decided I’d make it easy by walking every km until heart rate came down. In the end did it in 80 mins - not a personal best but still.

So that’s it - just over a year since I ran for one minute on my C25k journey. Furthest I’ve run non stop is 11k, furthest ‘jeffing’ 10miles. One injury. One abandoned HM training plan. A few zombies outrun. Run the Pennine way, COGH, rediscovered Kylie minogue, according to strava I was my fittest and ran furthest in January; according to my Garmin, my current fitness age is 17 years younger than my real age, but at one point was 30 years younger (!) after a Garmin GPS outage that had me running km in 4 mins 🤣 and totally skewed my stats.

Thank you folks for being there along the way, egging me on, educating me into the ways. Roll on another year and maybe I’ll enter a real race sometime !! 🥳🤸🏻‍♀️

Happy Runniversary Juliet, and running a (not) vitality 10k and taking part in COGH. You started running in very strange times, and have yet to take part in a real race or parkrun. You have so much to look forward to in your second year.

I have deferred my vitality 10k for the 2nd year as I would really love to run in London.
