Doing my bit to recognise this occasion, I set off this morning at about 8.40. My Garmin said 17°, but it felt a lot warmer - however it would have been much hotter in London if the real event had gone ahead!
My route was my usual 10k one - starting nearly at the top of Portsdown Hill, through some local roads to Waterlooville and back along the A3. Thankfully not much traffic today due to the bank holiday. Quite pleased with the outcome (1.04.10), given the rising temperature, but my pace was a good example of how not to do negative splits: 1st-3rd k, 5+ min/km; 4th-9th, 6+ min/km; final k, 7.11 - that last one up the hill is a killer!
Back home, shower, big bowl of fruit and yogurt - yum! Glad to be part of the great virtual get-together!👍😀

Fantastic that you joined our merry band Jonathan. Great time too - just a few seconds faster than me, although my splits were reasonably consistent until they dropped off the cliff in kms 9 and 10!
Woohoo well done Jonathan, glad you could join us! You’re right about the heat today - the hour of day, plus general London heat, not to mention the throngs of people, and we’d have had our work cut out.
Worth it though I expect!
Your run sounded great! Well done, and hope to see you before toooo long. 😀
Great time JP, especially with heat and the hills 👏👏 And you had a much healthier choice of post-run snacks than we did. There's far too much a temptation around baked goods round here for (& it's all my fault 🤣).
Sounds like a smoothly managed run JP. Except for cheeky, yesterday wasn’t really PB conditions; a bit too hot. I suspect we flooded the site a bit with our chatter yesterday but there was a lot to talk about. Will go into Trappist mode for a while! Glad to hear that your foot seems to be behaving.👍
