Four miles and a new run buddy! 🐈‍⬛

Today’a run was a bit of a grind. My own wazzock fault. Firstly, I didn’t realise that I ran yesterday because I thought it was Thursday today and knew I’d last run on Tuesday. It is Wednesday. Secondly, I forgot that I went to spin this morning. That was for the first time in about ten years and it was tough. I couldn’t work out why I was so knackered until I got home and my garmin awarded me a new badge for a record number of intensity minutes in a day. When I realised what I’d done, I felt like a prize wally.

There wasn’t anything particularly remarkable about the run (except for me being grumpy for almost all of it!) except for a lovely little cat deciding to run alongside me. He was so friendly that he kept getting underneath my feet as I was jogging so I decided to stop (safety reasons obviously…) and give him some cuddles. That perked me right up and I finished my four miles with a grin. Sometimes the most unexpected things cheer us up!

Thank you! I got a free cookie when I bought those trainers! The Brooks rep was visiting the local independent run shop and she was brilliant in helping me choose them. Bonus discount too.

I love all animals and they usually put a smile on my face. Nice to meet such a smiley cat at just the right time!!

Thank you! It’s nice for that to feel like a normal run now…usually with less of the grumps!!! Hooray for furry friends!

I’ve managed to remember I ran yesterday and today, it’s just a gentle walk and a Zumba class which will be done at the pace of smiling a lot rather than going all out. Thank you!! ❤️

So funny that you forgot that you had already exercised and lost track of the days, athletes brain fog! Love the photo of your furry friend.

I couldn’t believe it when I realised. I sometimes have those “I feel rubbish for no reason” runs (like everyone) but I don’t often forget I’ve done a spin class and another run the day before. 🤦‍♀️ In my defence, work and life have been exceptionally busy!!! I’m really looking forward to a half term rest and some holiday runs. ❤️

Apart from the fact that you had run on Tues, oh and the fact that you had done a spin class( how does one forget that!)…

I would take the little sweet cat taking a shine to you and that you were still coherent and able to type a post after all that as signs of success. You may need to do some work on your short term memory though.

Forgetting the spin class was exceptionally daft! I’d had a weird morning where I’d missed my usual weights class (which is fine to run after a few hours later) because of traffic and done the spin one on impulse. I had a rescheduled work thing which I had to plan in a hurry and a few other time sensitive bits to fit in so I was a bit frazzled. I usually run before seeing this particular client so I just went out on autopilot without engaging my brain and realising it was a totally different day and I’d already been active in the morning!! Luckily by the time I had to be in work mode, I’d had some coffee and some carbs and was a lot more perky. I need a PA!!! Hopefully things will calm down after next week and I’ll know where I’m supposed to be and what I’m supposed to be doing! ❤️

This story made me smile. That cat is awesome, and i agree, he looks like he is smiling. I love how the universe just finds a way to send joy in our lives. Also love the shoes!

Thank you!! He was such a cutie and really did make me smile. Those are my favourite pair of trainers!! They came with a free cookie (Brooks rep visiting the shop I bought them from) and that always makes me feel well disposed towards them! ❤️

Thank you!! I would love to have brought the cat home! Not sure what the guineas would have made of him… luckily they’re good for a little cuddle too!! ❤️

Forgetting what day it is... sounds like something I'd do. Actually, I've done it! 🙄

Hooray for companion cats. Was it looking for a home?

I’ve been confused most of today too because my usual Thursday thing isn’t on and I say my Monday person yesterday so that means it feels like a Tuesday. I’ve managed to resist doing anything silly like running again though!!

I’d have love to have brought that cat home. He looked well loved and well fed so I think he must have had a home in the area. There is a little group of houses nearby. I’ll keep an eye out for him next time I’m around there! I think I’ve made a proper little friend! ❤️

You mu friend, are anything but a wazzock or a wally!

You worked out and you worked hard, and feeling tired was natural... but very well done to you anyway!

That little chap was just a bonus, to slow you in your tracks and help take away the grumps! He will maybe appear again do you think, if you gave him cuddles!

Thank you!! After a good night’s sleep and a quieter day yesterday, I’m feeling recharged and ready for Friday. It is definitely Friday, isn’t it?!!!

Excellent effort all round MU, and I LOVE your little buddy. He’d have had me stopping in my tracks for cuddles too. ❤️

He really was a friendly chap! I’d have gone to find him again today but it’s hammering down and I suspect he’d be indoors avoiding being a soggy moggy! Hopefully next week now! Tomorrow’s run will hopefully be a novelty one-girls weekend away planned and I’m taking my kit just in case!

If it was just a cat you needed to cheer you up then you could have had mine, first there was a dead thing this morning, then I went to move my pillow not realising he'd snuck behind me and must have made him jump because I got nasty teeth wounds which bled all over said pillow. We do love each other really 🤣.Cute cat and snazzy shoes 😁

Sorry I’ve just seen this! Have been away for the weekend and catching up. Oh your naughty cat! I hope he was extra cuddly afterwards to make up for his bad behaviour! One of our guineas is a bit of a grump and only likes a stroke on her own terms. Fair enough I suppose but I’ve had to learn to be a lot more careful around the teeth!!! 🤣

SueAppleRun profile image
SueAppleRunGraduate1060minGraduate in reply to MissUnderstanding

I'm usually very careful, he snuggles close and likes his head stroked a bit, but I'm wary, I leant forward thinking I'd pull the pillows flat and have another little sleep, and he snuck behind me and grabbed my hand, I haven't been bit for a while so I surprised him rather than him attacking
