I’ve been a bit remiss in posting just recently, mainly because I’ve only been doing short run-walks as I build up the strength in my hip. This morning’s effort was a slight increase from 3 to 4 x 8 minute jogs with a 2 minute walk in between. The first couple of runs were into a strong headwind on the prom but when I turned round the wind kindly pushed me along. It also blew my hair right across my face so I couldn’t see a thing! Note to self: ring hairdresser! So no great record breaking speeds to offer but 3.8 km done to add to the COGH challenge and a swim to look forward to tomorrow. Happy running folks!

Still trotting along
Well done OGR, every little helps towards getting your hip stronger and COGH! Sounds like you’re getting there. 😀
I had to do some quick maths as I entered yesterday’s walk in its mile equivalent on COGH which is what we need to do for Route 66. I shortchanged myself by 2.02km so I remembered to add them on to today’s post-run walk total. Like I say, every little helps! 😅
Wot no picture of crashing waves? Here’s one I took earlier! Well done you Oldgirlruns, Good to see you increasing the running and doing the physio exercises. Don’t forget to include your warm up and cool down walks on COGH, we want to get away from the 🦟🦟🦟 as soon as possible.
We took one look at the weather forecast and ran inland today on a gentle toddle. Well that was the plan, but it didn’t feel very easy. I blame it all on cheese 🧀
For some reason I can’t see your photo Dexy but I can guess what it looks like! Yes, I’ll be glad to get away from the mozzies as well - they just love me!
Well done Oldgirlruns 🥶
Here’s my photo from my run today. Run walking too but slightly nicer conditions 🤣🇦🇺❤️🏃♀️
Beautiful blue sky!
Good for you OGR, it must be very satisfying to be building up your running. 👍🏻😄
Its all progress! Hair can be a difficult beast though, can't it??
Good progress Oldgirlruns, exciting times ahead as the running parts get longer, hair? let it grow a bit more and tie it up 😀
Tried that in lockdown Sola - nightmare!
Hair is tricky stuff, during our first year of running I was taking drugs for psoriasis that made mine fall out it got progressively thinner and more straggly so every few weeks i cut another inch off in the hope it looked better, last year when i was ill in January I stopped the drugs because they compromised my lungs and over time it’s grown back, now i cut a bit off here and there so eventually the new growth will have caught up with the old growth, see, tricky stuff hair 😀
Well run Ogr. It’s hard being sensible, so l admire your progress. Keep doing what your doing, you’ll soon be back to peak form👍
I'm pleased to hear things are getting better, it gives the rest of us still on the IC some hope
I had my hair cut last week but now it won't all go up into a pony tail when I run (ah, but I'm not running at the moment, I forgot ....)
Slow but sure! Good going OGR!
I regularly take a pair of scissors to my fringe 🙄...but I leave the rest. I have 2 styles...long enough to tie up in summer, or an off the shoulder bob...my hairdresser despairs🤦🏻♀️ 💇🏻♀️
...I’ve known her for *many* years...
Hello Oldgirlruns. Just thought I'd let you know that I was thrilled to actually run 5k today (slowly) having come back from the hip replacement in 2018 and a very bad lower back last year. I started at Week 4 in March and went beyond the 30 minutes today. Yay! I'm also off for a sea swim tomorrow. We can do it!
