Still plodding along….

It’s been a good few months since my last post, but I’m still here and more importantly still running. I must admit when the weather was awful, I struggled a bit, not only due to the weather but found myself running mainly after a day sitting at my desk, which I found really hard work as I was just too stiff. So a few weeks ago I made the effort to get back to morning running. Since then I have been running three times a week, covering either 5 or 6km. The (slight) improvement in the weather has also helped with the morning motivation.

The regular morning runnings seem to be paying off as I did my first 10k in a while this morning. Didn’t set out to do 10k but felt good at the 6 and 8k markers so decided to just push on. In the end hit 10km at just over 63 mins, so not too bad !

Great run today, all those 5s and 6s got you well prepared for a cracking 10k today. I’m full of admiration for anyone who tries to tackle a run at the end of a working day. Glad your managing your morning runs now though - great way to set yourself up for day ahead, as long as you remember to keep rising from your desk during the day to prevent seizing up again. Happy running 🤗

Funny you should say that, as the other morning whilst at my desk after a morning run, I suddenly got cramp in one of my legs. I was on a call at the time so at least it made my colleagues laugh to see me suddenly leap up and start hopping around!

Oh dear, set a buzzer for every 30mins and have a stretch, it’s amazingly relaxing

Will give that a try as it’s far to easy to forget to move.

Great run for you today Ant50, you say it was your first 10K run for a while, I don't see the words Graduate10 next to your username, if you want to see them tell the administrators that you have ran several 10Ks, to do that, go to the pinned posts on the right side of the healthunlocked May Graduate10 homepage.

Many thanks, I will do that. Guess I forgot to ask for that badge when I completed Ju-Ju’s magic plan.

Well done! 63 minutes is a great time. (Faster than me at least. 🤪)

Thanks. Wasn’t particularly aiming for a fast time, just sort of happened. Although I really should learn to slow down so that the last km isn’t quite so hard. Mind you I should also have avoided the slight uphill stretch for the last km - that really was a killer on tired legs !
