Run 1 on road to recovery

I couldn’t sleep last night and was mentally jogging round my usual route in the opposite direction! Thought that might be fun to do .. so off I shuffled at just after 9 am when the children were tucked up at school (not mine, they’re all in their 30s now 🤪) and hopefully the dog walkers were still having their second cup of tea ☕️.. my recovering calf muscle was given instructions after a 10 day pause and off we went .. the offending muscle kind of behaved itself but I could feel it getting tighter at around 2k .. so decided to call it a day but was glad I’d given it some exercise and it’s fine now cos we’re sitting in the lovely sunshine 🌞

Btw has anyone noticed their brain power improving after regular running? I quite often come back from a run, sit down and tackle a tricky crossword and find I can often get quite a few clues straight off.. must be all that blood circulating in my head.

What a lovely day it is today .. have a lovely afternoon everyone😀

I suppose after 10 days rest you think your calf will be tested enough and ok and at some time you had to try it out. It must be still there after your 2km. Never thought about a crossword after running don’t have the time but I know what youmean about your head buzzing it must be the adrenaline. Good luck hope your calf better soon😀

Well done getting out 👍

I managed 2.5 K on my first proper run after the injury . The run was brilliant and then suddenly there was that feeling again 🤷‍♀️

Best thing I did was stopping and wandering home 😂

It will come right with a little more time 👌

My calf is now fine on my runs although I’ve only managed 6K so far .

Don’t mind I’m really focusing on not injuring anything again .

Sounds like the 2K gave you a lift though ☀️☀️ good to get out there and see what’s what 🙂👍

So I went out again today just for a little tootle around.. it was a little tight but not painful so think it’s on the mend .. you’re right in that it will sort itself out in the end .. just annoying as I can sense my fitness is fading but I’ll just keep on it😀🐌🙃
