As someone new to running am stretching a lot pre and post running but have been getting a few hamstring niggles as well as a bit of underwear chafing while running (which is a tad uncomfortable!).
I was wondering if long compression shorts might be a way to give my hamstrings a bit of support as well as stopping the chafing issue. I tried an elasticated thigh support but it just slips down round my knee.
Any advice on if this is a good idea or alternatives would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I would think anything fitted is going to help prevent chafing, sounds painful! I wear ronhill running tights which aren't compression but sort of hold you properly if you see what I mean. I'm a fan of compression socks, and they are supportive, but I wouldn't rely on a pair of shorts if I had niggles. There might be some strengthening exercises over on the strength and flex site that will help support those hamstrings.
