Has anyone done the NHS 5-10k programme? Thinking of starting it just wondering what you all thought? Need some guidance so thought Laura would help!

I just did my own thing to get to 10k, gradually increasing one of my weekly runs.A lot here use ju ju's magic plan which looks great .

There are also many other 10k programs and all apear to follow a similar route .

Good luck with which ever way you go , 10k is such a nice distance to run 🙂

I didn't realise there was an NHS 5 to 10k programme! I used the magic plan to take me to 60 minutes and then extended distance on my own to reach 10k. Good luck, 10k is fab distance, enjoy the journey 😃

I didn't think there was an NHS 5-10k programme. I did Ju-Ju's Magic Plan - see link on this forum - and loved it.

It's for graduates of 5k, just wondered if any good?

Ah now I see. I personally didn't get on with those podcasts, but many people do.

However, they're not designed as a plan to get you to 10k, but to help you improve other aspects of your running.

You might like to try them before moving onto another 10k plan, or app, or just doing your own thing. Whatever, happy running!

I haven’t tried them, I heard that some of them are a little speedy 😬

As a 🐌🐌🐌 I graduated with around 3.3km for my 30 minutes, so I first used Ju-Ju’s Magic Plan timed version...which got me to running for 60 minutes. I covered about 6km.

I then went over to the distance plan, and graduated 2 weeks ago...10km in 1:35:52 😊

Faster runners tend to just use the distance plan. Here’s a link to the post...

Hi Speedydonzalez , I have been doing the Stepping Stone and Stamina the last 2 weeks after graduating C25K. They are designed to help you increase your mileage as well as speed. Now I am able to complete 5K in 30 mins, down from 35. My best 5K pace is 4.51 min/km. Otherwise my pace hovers around 6-6.5 . Coming week I plan to do Speed, let's see how it goes.
