A week's recovery

My last run was my second 10K last Thursday, really enjoyed it and managed with not much trouble at all..๐Ÿ˜Š

But the next day had pain in both knees, not very painful but enough to think I should take two rest day's..but it carried on though the next few days..

I managed to get out yesterday for a 5K and feeling fine afterwards, thinking I won't push the distance for now..much happier running a regular 5K than risking injury and not being able to run atall..

A couple of months of strength and I hope to be back to increasing my distance.

Had my covid vaccine yesterday afternoon, didn't sleep too well.. and slight headache.. so will have to see how this plays out..

Ooh the joys ๐Ÿค—

Have you checked out some exercises to strengthen your legs sparky? Exercises like squats strengthen the muscles so that you knees are not taking all the strain.

Why not check out the strength and flexibility forum for ideas?

Good luck

Congratulations on getting your covid jab! ๐Ÿ’‰Good advice from Dexy about strength exercises. Maybe check out your shoes too, you may need more cushioning for longer runs. Hope you feel better soon!

Well done Caroline, good to listen to your body, which i didnt, and kept me from running alot, feb/march, i think when we get to that magic 10k, and it feels comfortable, there's the temptation to go further.Had my vaccine yesterday, so far no after effects, was actualy thinking of a longer run this weekend ๐Ÿค”

Hope your vaccine effects are lessening sparky66, I felt pretty sorry for myself too and a few days on I'm much better but still have random aching in my joints so think running might have to wait a few more days. Take care and administer chocolate, frequently!
