We have just joined the Koylma Highway, or "Road of Bones" as it is better known.

Cape of Good Hope Relay - We have reached the Road of Bones
Just read about that road in your post Charlies1, that road seems a little dangerous compared to the roads in the UK, but if all of us runners and walkers stick together we should be safe from the elements.
Hi AlMorr,
I agree, lets stick together.
Although it is one of the most dangerous roads in the world, it should be a picnic compared to the remote wilderness that we have just come through. All things are relative!
😀
I did say "a little dangerous" that was a understatement, many people have died on that route, drowning, freezing in - 60C temperatures, starvation, wild animals, bears or wolves come to mind, other's have just disappeared, but fear not, none of us runners or walkers will give in or perish, as long as we stick together we will be 🆗 🏃🏾 👍 🚶
Thanks for the update Charlies1 - glad we’re travelling as a group!
Let’s stick together guys. Please! 😱😳
That sounds scary ... I have 10 miles to run this weekend, I might have more to worry about than I thought!!! Look out for me folks and I'll keep an eye out for you 😀👍
Beware the wolves, but more especially any passing cars!
Much the same problem here in Bucks (the cars anyway, not so sure about the wolves)
Believe it or not you don't need to go to countries in Eastern Europe such as Belurus or Russia to find wolves roaming wild, Holland just across the North Sea have wolves roaming around the countryside, farmers in The Netherlands are are a bit concerned on how many wolves have killed sheep.
Amazing progress!
@Charlies1, Are we near Ust-Nera, at the top of the curve of the highway?
Well I just survived my 7.99km run and walk along that road. Phew! I didn't drown, freeze to death or get hit by a car. I avoided wild animals and fires, and encountered no lawless criminals). I haven't starved to death (yet!) or been poisoned by dodgy alcohol - I brought my own supply of well known beer. 🍺 Hopefully I haven't contracted tick-borne encephalitis. Fellow COGH runners, I am looking for a volunteer to check me over for ticks in the parts that other beers cannot reach! 😂
I agree with Alan - we need to stick together! I like the local proverb of moving slowly to arrive faster - suits me to a tee! Thank you for the fantastic description Charlies1 - it really brings the whole thing to life!
I love running with my virtual HU buddies. We're in it together. It's so interesting too, everyone will want me on their quiz team after this! 😀
I’m loving this! I think we ought to run in groups, or at least pairs. And what do we do if someone talks to us - are they drunk, do they want to mug us? It’s a good job we can all run.
You are still at the top JaySeeSkinny.
Yeh, but slowing down. And most of it is walking. Might put a burst in over the weekend 🏃
I am now at 59K, I went a 6K walk this morning, tomorrow it will be a 5K run and on Sunday and Monday, probably a 16K and 7K walk respectively.
I try to go out for a run or a walk every morning. And then again for a longer walk after work. About 12k a day on work days, tends to be more at weekends. It all adds up! 16k is a good distance for your walk.
So glad to hear that I will be safe with the bears on this route, but I’ll definitely be sticking with everyone else.

Whoops, I have fallen behind. I forgot to log my run yesterday. I will enter a double today to try and catch you up.
I would be interested in doing this
Hi Charlie 👋 I'm still walking until physio gives me the ok to start run/walking again, but have taken my eye off the ball due to family illness and now I can't find the link to log my walks 😬 can you message me and can I go back to the days I haven't logged and fill them in ? Sorry to be lagging behind 😬
Woah, how did I miss this? Is it too late to sign up? Looks awesome and the t-shirts too!
Hi limu-mu. You are not to late, I will set you up & send you a chat message with the details
