End of the road for this pair!

End of the road for this pair!

A little rhyme to say goodbye!

Goodbye old friends you've earned your rest

With the roads and trails, you've stood the test

At many miles apiece, the wear has become clear to see

With sore & aching feet, new shoes are a must for me

Out with the old and in with the new

What shoes will I now choose

Will it be the same again or a different make for me

No it's goodbye to Brooks with a change to Hoka Clifton 3!

Have a great weekend all and good luck to everyone running events this weekend. 😎

Out with the old, they have served you well !

:)

Those battered shoes, they do look worn

A little sad, a tad forlorn.

The new shoes, will replace each pair

The old, may feel, you do not care

Instead of the bin, plant up each one

With little flowers, to stand in the sun :)

I couldn't resist a reply to your little rhyme :)

Ah Frank , sad to see your shoes go. I remember you ran in those white and blue ones in Manchester didn't you ?

I remember cos all I saw was a clean pair of heels all throughout the race, Ha ha ! :-)

Ah they have been loved and cherished as they go to the great big shoe skip in the sky, but isn't it exciting getting some new ones ?? :-)

Hey get you , the Poet Laureate of the board ! Lovely poem :-) xxx

Aw so sad to say goodbye to those faithful friends. I can't bin mine! I keep em all. I tell myself that they'll be good for walking or gardening in, or doing some physical jerks. Saddo! Mine are sort of piling up against the inside of my wardrobe. In fact my wardrobe is full so now that my current batch of shoes resides in my snug.

You could come up with all sorts of extenuating circumstances for holding on to the old faithfuls Frank. You're an ideas man! (I sound like CJ!)

Come to think of it I could have planted them up, that would have made a talking point! Probably got rid of the smell as well! ha ha 🙊 But they have been faithful and looking on the bright side I'm in the market for a pair of trail shoes now. 😊

Apparently we can hand in our used running shoes at branches of runners need. Read it in the guardian today
