A little rhyme to say goodbye!
Goodbye old friends you've earned your rest
With the roads and trails, you've stood the test
At many miles apiece, the wear has become clear to see
With sore & aching feet, new shoes are a must for me
Out with the old and in with the new
What shoes will I now choose
Will it be the same again or a different make for me
No it's goodbye to Brooks with a change to Hoka Clifton 3!

A little sad, a tad forlorn.
The new shoes, will replace each pair
The old, may feel, you do not care
Instead of the bin, plant up each one
With little flowers, to stand in the sun

Aw so sad to say goodbye to those faithful friends. I can't bin mine! I keep em all. I tell myself that they'll be good for walking or gardening in, or doing some physical jerks. Saddo! Mine are sort of piling up against the inside of my wardrobe. In fact my wardrobe is full so now that my current batch of shoes resides in my snug.
You could come up with all sorts of extenuating circumstances for holding on to the old faithfuls Frank. You're an ideas man! (I sound like CJ!)
Come to think of it I could have planted them up, that would have made a talking point! Probably got rid of the smell as well! ha ha 🙊 But they have been faithful and looking on the bright side I'm in the market for a pair of trail shoes now. 😊
