Have we got the world record?

Judging by my bib number, I might have been one of 23,456 runners attempting to beat the current world record (of I think 6k runners?) of most runners to attempt to run a remote 5k on one day in one race!

I’m sure Parkrun would win hands down, but as of yet they might not have gotten the idea to submit and beat the existing world record.

I ran this morning, a fine 5k (5.06k to be exact), happy, smiling and easy. And as usual, very slow the Niko Niko way.

Now on to put my results into the website and see how far we’ve gotten to!

I was ok, probably a little bit faster than normal after a long run as it was the following day. A double helping of yoga last night helped too although I wasn’t feeling that lastnight 😂😂 yes great to be a part of it all - great fun. 🎉👏👍😊🏃🏻‍♀️🧘‍♀️

Well done CBDB I was part of it too this morning at Bognor Parkrun! 👍 I haven’t uploaded my result and evidence yet, but we’ve got a week to do that. I’ve got the small matter of the London Summer Run tomorrow to get through first! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Hate to tell you but that bib number was the example….you needed to over write it with number on your order…..but do think there were over 11,000 registered and current record to 6,000 and something so fingers crossed!

Drats, forgot to sign up. Would you still be able to sign up aftetwards and submit your run? Did a 10K yesterday (Saturday)?

Hmmm, not sure. As it’s a specific official world record, they had to also add some rules that are unusual for end to end, e.g. only Running and Walking, run in that day, etc. Have a look!

There is a similar Guinness world record attempt for 10k in two weeks.

Apparently I could still enroll, I got a mail that I was enrolled. But I get an error to submit the proof, that they have some issues and that I have to try again in a few hours. We'll see.

Might enroll in the 10K, though I can't predict I will be able to do 10K just then. Would love a medal for both, but with the new VAT stuuff for things coming from outside EU, not feeling like paying 20 euro surplus (have this issue with Conqueror at the moment, but they are solving it - great customer service!).

Great stuff. Yeah quite a few people have reported issues with the submission website and I think we have a few days to submit yesterday’s runs.

Conqueror… yeah… I’m so impressed by their offer and service. And the medals are really something!
