Sore Hips Do I Carry On?

I had tears in both hips and had surgery and physiotherapy to fix this. My hips continued to lock and were sore on any kind of high impact exercise. I was advised to accept my baseline and avoid anything high impact. That was 8 years ago. Last year I completed the couch to 5k on the treadmill and although it took longer than 9 weeks as I had to rest my hips for longer between runs I managed to do it but always felt like a bit of a cheat not running in the fresh air. After not running for nearly year I decided to try again but this time outside. I've been pleased with my progress running nearly every other day and got to week 5 run 3. It's been a week since this run as my hips have been so sore since. I'm gutted to have to take this break and would love to carry on soon. Sorry for the long post but I wondered if anyone in the community who has had similar problems had any advice? Many thanks.

That sounds so frustrating - really sorry to hear that. I don’t have any advice but just wanted to commiserate and say hello!
