A week of firsts...

Like many recent graduates, I was feeling a bit lost on Sunday morning. I have been running without knowing where i was heading. I decided to set 10k as my new goal.

1. I extracted the suggested plan for getting from 5k to 10k from ju-ju's pinned posts (thank you). Decided I was at the end of week 3 i.e. needed to make a 7k my next run.

2. First run without Michael Johnson (sorry, Michael). I used Zombies, Run. I prefer Michael.

3. First run in long sleeves. Was cold at the start but hot and sweaty after 2 miles. How long until the shorts are put away for winter?

4. First long run about 2.5 hrs after Sunday roast dinner. Surprisingly it stayed put.

5. First properly dark evening run scheduled for tomorrow. This will test my resolve.

That's quite enough new stuff for one week!

I understand the feeling of loss after graduation and did the same as you. Am now entering week 5 of ju-ju's plan (along with Bluebirdrunner and Oldfloss ) and loving it! I enjoy the variety of each run with the structure that warms my heart 😍. Best of luck, I'm sure it'll go great.

First mission of ZR is not my favourite either -- are you going back to Michael?

I'm going to give the zombies a second chance. The app didn't run smoothly first time - long periods of silence before I was told I had picked something up and then my music resumed. Also the volume was low so I struggled to hear at times. Turned it up to hear then got deafened when the music kicked back in.

I should know that nothing can match Michael....sigh....

You need music from another source than ZR-- I use Spotify. In settings you can adjust the voice volume relative to the music volume, so that might help. Good job getting out there!

I'm using Amazon Music in the background. I will consult with one of my teenage children as to how I adjust the volumes differently. They will have it sorted in a jiffy!

Knowing what to wear is always tricky! I tend to wear short sleeves but my lovely lightweight running jacket over the top because I can take it off and tie it around my waist if I get too warm (which is not very often in the Autumn/Winter here in Scotland!). Well done for running after a roast dinner!
