Just a brief post to show off my new ASICS Gel-Cumulus 22 AWL Running Shoes ๐คค. Bought using an Amazon Voucher courtesy of my lovely workmates who had a collection for me following my recent bereavement. Also my new Medal Rack which I treated myself to in order to display my running bling, not a lot admittedly but Iโm proud of them!
๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐
Great to see them on display now, including a C25k Medal I treated myself to when I graduated, to mark the occasion......9 weeks 27 runs..I thought ๐ค why not !
I presented my good friend and work colleague CI578 with one of these today following her recent graduation and very well deserved it was too.๐ ๐
First day back at work today following an 8 week absence, so no run today, honestly havenโt got the energy this evening, but planning to get out there for an early morning run or two later this week ๐ค๐โโ๏ธ
Hope Everyone is ok, staying safe and enjoying their running ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ

Yeah itโs on there, but only shows outside the app when you log on I think, I saw it the other day. I did 2x 10k Virtual Races and a 10 mile one. Hopefully a few more this year ๐ค
Good to know you are back at work, you needed that time of peace and looking after you Fab shoes, I always wore Aisics for years and they are brilliant shoes and look at that bling, how lovely to have to mark your races and running achievements
They feel nice and comfortable, very light too....first test run this week. Itโs nice to see my medals on display, the rack was quite reasonable and shows them off nicely ๐
It was nice to see everyone in work today and get a bit of normality back. ๐
Thank you for my medal Geoff, the first running medal I've ever got ๐๐ and your trainers look great. Enjoy hanging more bling on your rack ๐๏ธ๐๏ธ๐๏ธ๐
Nice looking new shoes, and medal collection, when the shops open, i might treat myself to some new shoes. Hope your first day back at work went ok, i should be in on mon, and will be glad to get it out of the way. With the news today, maybe we can join in with some real races soon.
Cheers Peter, it went fine thanks bit apprehensive at first but itโs nice to see everyone and catch up. It would be nice to run in a real race, fingers crossed for later this year ๐ค
Good luck for Monday, are you sure you feel ready? You havenโt been off for long?
Well, i've actualy been of work since 11th dec, when schools shut before xmas, so will be good to go back, although, like you, it's seeing everyone on that first day, before we know it, will be of again at easter, for another 3 weeks.
It is tough, as everyone wants to ask how you are, but itโs only because they care, itโs nice to get the first day over with. Iโm sure youโll be fine Peter.
Ah Geoff love your medal rack it is brilliant that it has your name on it and all your wonderful medals shining away. Well Done on all your marvellous running achievements ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ and for going back to work today ๐ค๐ป
What thoughtful colleagues, I hope those special trainers bring you many miles of happy running.
I didnโt realise you could buy a medal for completing C25K, that is lovely, it must be so special and mean so much, where it all started!! Congratulations to you friend CI578 on completing C25K ๐๐๐
I must say I really really love your Vitality 10k medal, I would soooooooooooo love to have one of those.
Ahhh thanks Rebecca, they do look nice on display, much nicer to enjoy them than have them shut away in a drawer.
My workmates are a great brunch, and have been so supportive, Iโm very grateful to them. I spotted the C25k medals on eBay, they werenโt expensive and I think itโs nice to have a medal to mark the occasion.
The Vitality 10,000 is a lovely medal, I was very impressed with that one, when I received it๐ different from the Sandringham 10k, which is made of wood, but does have my name and race time on the back.
Thatโs so cool CP. Looking forward to that medal holder filling up this year! Are you going for the Vitality 10k again this year? I think a few of us have already signed up!Hereโs to a new start for you ๐
Thanks 58soon ๐ Iโm thinking about the Vitality 10k, Iโll definitely enter some more races this year, might hopefully be able to run a non virtual one ๐ค
Iโm a sucker for a bit of bling and as you say, I have to try and fill that rack ๐
Aye up CP.! You finally got those runningโs shoes you wanted before Christmas!! ๐๐ปDo you remember I asked Santa to hook you up with a pair!!!
I will be having words with him! But at least you have them and now we are running shoe twins !!! ๐ฅณ๐๐๐ A special moment for you Iโm sure! ๐คฃ
If you get any more bling Iโm going to have to call you Mr T ๐ x
Seriously though, you have a great bunch of work mates there looking out for you. What a lovely surprise that must have been and now you have a great pair of new running shoes! Also the medal rack looks good, better to be on display than just stuck in a drawer.
So sorry to hear you had a bereavement recently sending you commiserations and hugs. And my what stupendous fabulous fantastic shoes - you have some great work colleagues. Wishing you loads of happy running in them
Thank You Rosec25k sadly I lost my mum on Christmas Eve, we later found out she had Covid, so itโs been a very tough time. My work colleagues have been so supportive as have the lovely people on this forum, Iโm very fortunate. ๐
The shoes look and feel great and Iโm looking forward to testing them out later this week ๐๐โโ๏ธ
Lovely new shoes and a fab medal rack Couchphoenix ! I think the Couch to 5k medal is a great idea - a real momento of what is genuinely a life-changing programme for so many of us! I bet your colleague really appreciated that!๐๐
Thanks Sandraj39, itโs nice to see the medals on display, hopefully get a few more this year.
Yes my colleague loved her medal, sheโs worked so hard and been so determined and Iโve enjoyed following her journey, so itโs nice to mark the occasion. Another 3 of the ladies I work with have given C25k a go on my recommendation and graduated, I bought them all a medal ๐ to celebrate ๐
C25k is definitely life changing, I agree with you ๐
Good to hear that you're doing ok CP and see your fab new Asics- I've just retired my very first pair- years old and been my 'messy' trainers for a long time but the soles have just split so it's the parting of the ways finally ๐คฃ I have absolutely no bling yet so very impressed with your display ๐
Thank You Littleoyellow, Iโm doing ok, getting there slowly. These are my first pair of ASICS, Iโve had Brooks and Karrimor before, so looking forward to trying these for a change.
No running bling ! ๐ฏ got to get some bling Littleoyellow, if your niggley hip is behaving itself, why not do a Race at Your Pace Challenge for March you can set your own distance and you can tweak that too depending on how your doing. Their not expensive and their medals are lovely, they do very reasonably running tops too......why not have a look๐ ๐
You're doing great CP and spring is just around the corner which will be good for us all ๐ keep being kind to yourself and gently does it ๐ค thank you for the Race at Your Pace suggestion- I'll check it out! Next physio appointment 1st March and we'll see if any run/walks are recommended at that point. Foam rollering the IT band is the biggest challenge atm ๐คฃ I'm biding my time in my quest for bling ๐คฃ you take care ๐ค
Great shoes Couchphoenix ! Iโm sure youโll have many happy runs ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธin them I have to say my asics trails are super. Loving the bling and your medal rack too๐๐๐
Thanks Now63, looking forward to my first run in them this week, nice to hear youโre a fan of that brand ๐ I love a bit of running bling, hopefully more to follow in 2021 ๐๐โโ๏ธ
Iโve not long become a fan as I normally wear Brooks. However over Christmas Iโd started trail running/ cross countryish through the fields trails and farm tracks where I live. So I thought that maybe a pair of trails would be good.
I didnโt want spend out too much in case I didnโt like it so I saw my asics in the sale and asked hubby to buy them for my birthday in Feb. I got them before obviously and have enjoyed running in them ever since.๐๐
The C25k medals were an eBay find, those particular ones are quite hard to find, but they have others on there. Itโs just nice to have something to mark the occasion after all that hard work.
Iโve managed to pick up a few medals, I love a bit of bling and it encourages you too, shows what youโve achieved ๐
I havenโt test run the ASICS yet, they feel light and comfortable so Iโll let you know ๐
Great to hear you are doing OK. Hope you love your new shoes. I have been running in the same ones all winter and I love them. No matter how muddy they get the mud just washes off with a quick rinse under the tap. When I got these I wasnโt sure about this type of lace either, but very impressed as they have always stayed nice and tight no matter how long the run. Enjoy the shoes, but enjoy being out there running, even more !
Thanks Ant50, itโs down to you that I chose them, I remember seeing yours and your wifeโs pairs on your previous post and thinking......๐คI fancy a pair of those, so the Amazon voucher was the ideal opportunity. Glad you like yours, they sound a good pair of running shoes. Looking forward to testing them out this week. ๐๐โโ๏ธ
I did wonder that as I remembered you commented on that post. Hope you enjoy them as much as we do. Having these has certainly saved my normal ASICS from being ruined over winter, they are in the cupboard waiting for sun and dry weather to return. Tell us how your first run goes in them ! ๐
Youโre a lucky guy to have such lovely workmates. How thoughtful. Beautiful shoes and great medal rack - thatโs motivation on your wall if youโre running low ๐
Love the new runners! A very classy colour! That was a very thoughtful gift from your work colleagues. It must be nice to know they were thinking of you like that.
Love the medal hanger too. You are getting quite a bling collection there CP!
