I’m catching up with yesterday’s papers and found this great article by Peta Bee in The Times. It’s a great read if you can enlarge the photo enough. If not, her main points are summarised below and it’s good news for slow runners everywhere 🐌 🐒😊.

🐌 πŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈrunning slowly makes you a better runner πŸ˜€

😊 🐒shuffling prevents injury and strengthens knees 🦡🏼

πŸ˜†it’s okay to have two pairs of running shoes πŸ‘Ÿ πŸ‘Ÿ βœ… (or more perhaps πŸ›’πŸ›πŸ˜‰)

πŸ§˜πŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ‹πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈ stretching, weight-lifting and strengthening your core all helps 😊

Also, apparently beetroot shots improve oxygen uptake. Has anyone ever heard this ?

Thank goodness !! Actually, I started slow running, small steps about 6 months ago. Stopped worrying about getting faster as I felt , at 65, it wasn’t going to happen. Just did 3 runs a week, between 20-35 minutes. Really enjoyed not feeling exhausted and, guess what ? Got faster. How did that happen ?

Well that's a relief πŸ˜‰ and good to think about as I'm being overtaken by determined faced runners who don't look like they're having any fun at all πŸ˜‚
