Today, I was having a conversation with my niece (over the phone of course) and found myself speaking to her about the importance of movement. π€
How, when life seems to be solidifying you, you sometimes need to push beyond the feeling of being stuck and move.
Get your headphones on π§ I told her and just go out for a walk!! βοΈ Start moving and your troubles move. It can be a slow start π , but you feel better every step you take π . Until, like magic π§π½ββοΈ , you feel a sense of relief...and oh what a feeling that is!! π₯°
I was so passionate about that, that it inspired me to get my own kit on and go!! ππ½ββοΈ Not to the garden π‘ to challenge my new PB, but out on the road, social distancing running π‘. That was to be my adventure today. π
It was only 12 minutes, I did less than 2k, but I felt the βοΈ, the warm breeze π¨ and I saw a couple of people to send a quick smile their wayπππ½.
Iβm grateful for every experience that running has given meπ. I may not go far and I can only break my own recordsπ, but this girl can run!! ππ½ββοΈππ½ββοΈππ½ββοΈ
I love your positivity and sense of gratitude Fabulous450 π. It's great that you got out and appreciated this lovely sunshine & fresh air no matter how long, short, energetic or relaxing the run.
I've often not been in the right head space to run recently but have had the odd short bimble through the quiet woods & lanes, mostly about 3km. Like you said, I think I noticed even more than I usually do βοΈπ·π³ & appreciated being able to run, no matter how little or slow.
Thanks for sharing your post. Even though I know better not to compare myself to others, I often feel everyone's out there doing long runs and I'm not. Sometimes we need reminders that whatever exercise you do is beneficial for your mind and body πππΌββοΈππ½ββοΈ.
π Yes, I know that feeling. Even though itβs only a small laptop, with everything else to carry, it can feel like youβre carrying half the house with you π€£. Walking is great exercise though. I changed to a rucksack to try to make it a little easier! πβ€οΈ
So positive. Lovely. ππΌ But I have to say, I might be the winner on shortness of runs - 1.17k around the local hospital grounds while waiting for Mr GS to have blood test was my one run this past week. π³ Can only go up, yes? π€£ Still, as some kind person has said above, every run counts. And there were birds in the trees....
You did it again with that lovely, happy post Fab thank you. Took the free advice and went off for a run this morning with no thoughts of time or distance. Even the half hour queue to get into the supermarket afterwards couldnβt take away the runners high. Thank goodness for running. ππ₯° x
Thanks BTP! π€π€ Yes, I agree!! The bounce and energy is challenged quite a bit. A tick β in the mind feels every bit as good as a PB to me right now. β€οΈ
