Having posted already this morning about having become far too fond of my slippers for my own good, I am pleased to report that Mymojo successfully made me swap them for my trainers and I have been out for a run.
It was a very wet and squelchy outing, but get out I did π! I set out to just do what I could and I was prepared for walk intervals if I needed them, but I didn't. I think it was the driving rain that kept me running πββοΈ but also kept me to a sensible distance and I completed 2.5k before cooling down and walking 5 minutes home.
I am now enjoying a guilt-free cup of coffee in my slippers after a warming shower and enjoying the wonderful smug feeling of successfully getting Mymojo up off that sofa! Thank you to all who posted words of encouragement this morning and to those who joined in the rallying-cry and also got themselves out today. I hope you have enjoyed your runs too. D-d π€
All together now: "If you go down in the woods today, you're sure of a big surprise." π§Έ
Or more accurately a 5 foot-nothing one! π²πββοΈπ€£
Best bit was they were sitting down and had parked their gear across the track, so almost certainly didn't see me arrive - I just emerged between two vehicles and cheerfully said "Bonjour!"
Well done for getting that mojo off the sofa today Delly-dot, lovely to see your posts pop up today. Itβs been such a challenging Winter and with all you have going on youβve done brilliantly getting out there and encouraging a few more to go with you. It helps so much having moral support from our VRBβs to keep us going. Keep going, Spring is coming π€πΌ

Oh thank you Mrs Jorge π. Thereβs nothing more truthful than the saying βYou always feel better after a run.β Hopefully MyMojo is back on the right side and I can keep going. Just short runs is all I need at the moment. Roll on spring! βοΈ π·
Great you got out again Delly-dot and like you say you feel so much better for it. So you can now really enjoy your cosy slippers and fire. Have a great day ππͺπͺ
Well done Delly-dot this is great to readπI read your earlier post and it made me get off my back side and go and sort my car out which I need to sell but keep putting it off. So nothing to do with running but sometimes we are just good at thinking of reasons not to do things.
My reward for actually making a start on the process was to take some time to reply to posts. But now there's no need for encouragement for you as you've kicked your mojo off the coach already π
Procrastinating is one of my less redeeming qualities π but it does feel wonderful to sort things out, so I know just how you feel!! Yes, next run Friday or Saturday π
Glad you have your Mojo safely back on side. That post run shower & coffee really are the best aren't they? Just finished work and about to get changed & head out myself- its damp & miserable out there so hopefully not too much people dodging today.
Thankyou_ I've been out, it was damp, nothing major but enough to keep the pavements clear of walkers. Had a lovely run splashing through puddles .Now back home, showered, changed and...relax......
I donβt know if I enjoyed it as I ran, but I definitely enjoyed the sense of achievement afterwards πππΌββοΈ, and the coffee by the fire!
The slippers look lovely and comfy - no wonder you love them so much, But well done on swapping them for your running shoes and venturing out. A nice 2.5k to ease back into it π
Well done for forcing Mymojo out. And in the rain too. I dithered this morning and didn't go out in the end. So I did some digging instead which cleared my cobwebs but I'm definitely running tomorrow morning no matter what!
Well done Delly-dot and thank you for posting about your Mojo going AWOL.Reading your post was just the inspiration I needed to push me out of the door again too! Days were beginning to slide by without any running happening here.
A good 30 minute run this afternoon with a rainbow (always nice) and all feels good again. Maybe another will follow this weekendπ€
That after run glow is worth remembering isn't it!πxxx
Well done BBR! It's sometimes hard to keep erstwhile mojos in check, especially at this time of year, but let's look forward to spring and runs in the sunshine π»βοΈ. MyMojo and I will be heading out again tomorrow or Saturday.
I would have joined you and your rallying cry might have helped boot me out of the door if I had read this a couple of days ago. You have a fine taste in slippers by the way - I have the exact same ones π
