Best 5k to 10k Apps

ReluctantRunner48 profile image

Hello all, I'm new to this Site and new to running too!

I've just completed week 5 of c25k and am absolutely buzzing that I have gone from coach potato to 20 minutes in a little over 4 weeks. Never thought it possible to be honest. Sarah Millican has helped me get there via the App and I'm hoping to get some advice on the best Apps to take me from 5 to 10k in a few weeks' time.

I got a Fitbit Charge 4 for Christmas but am only tracking steps at the moment as trying to hit 10k steps on my rest days also, so any recommendations would be gratefully received.

Thanks in advance 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Hello and welcome. Well done on your C25k progress so far. Completing week 5 is a real achievement. I remember the buzz well 😊.Once you graduate from C25k, spend a few weeks consolidating your runs, whether you are running for 30 minutes or are one of the lucky ones to have reached 5k. Once your legs are used to regularly running that time/distance, then take a look at The Magic Plan as your next step. You can chose to do the timed version to reach 60 minutes of consecutive running, or do the distance version of the plan to reach 10k. Many of us on the forum (me included) complete the 60 minute plan and then move across to the 10k plan. It's lovely to have the freedom to choose. The info about it can be found here.....

There are some running/coaching plans on Nike Run Club or Runkeeper, but I haven't used either. Perhaps someone will add to the chat with info about them.

Good luck!

I'd definitely recommend ju Ju's plan its fantastic. Enjoy the rest of your current plan, consolidate at 30mins then start progressing onwards. Happy running 🤗

Hi ReluctantRunner48 (or not so reluctant if you've already got week 5 in the bag 😂). I was going to offer you my two-penneth but Delly-dot has pretty much covered what I was going to say lol. What I would say then is a huge well done on completing week 5 as it's such a massive milestone in the programme and most of all, try to enjoy the 'journey'. Just take any lows as an opportunity to gain experience and celebrate the highs. Good luck and enjoy the rest of C25k!
